I could be wrong, but it looks to me like they were going for a ferrofluid thing, which would have probably been really neat to animate if it moved when they spoke.

This makes sense! It'd be nice to see something like that on a Transformer.

They’re not bad looking (the last 3 pieces of art actually remind of Animated Lockdown), but they look like they’d belong in a movie on the Syfy channel rather than a Transformers film.

Okay, why didn't they used that design to use as inspiration for a Thrilling 30 Whirl Redeco?

The first ones head reminds me of the head of the Atlas from Voltron Legendary Defender.

I think it was supposed to look like ferrofluid. It probably would have been animated to ripple and reshape when he talked, I bet it would have looked really cool. This artist seems to have a lot of great ideas about how to make a talking mouth without there actually being a mouth, which I think is a neat way to show the alien-ness of these robots.

That ferro-fluid idea is really cool-I thought it looked like that too. However, the second head is definitely my favorite overall head, with the mouth of the first one being my favorite mouth. Something about those lasers and the flowing bots makes it look like the mouth of some kind of alien creature. Which I guess makes sense because that's what he is.

I love the body design. It's the most Transformers-esque in design out of all of the designs revealed so far aside from the Blitzwing. Luckily, it ended up on the screen too. I just dislike his head though. I'm glad they went with the head we see in the film.
