Just putting up one pic for now of this project.

Took a classics Acid Storm to make him.

    Points of interest

Reversed the knees so they can bend.
Modded the arms with pegs for the shoulders allowing for rotation and much improved articulation.
Still maintains original jet mode transformation.

    In progress
Still need to make a decent waist.
Modding a peg for his wings to attach to his legs(partsformer unless i can figure something out)
Still need to make a head of Leader-1.

    Thoughts? Suggestions? Critiques?

    UPDATED:

Added some new pics of both modes

Very cool concept (I had the same idea, but have other plans for all of my extra Acid Storm molds). My only suggestion would be to add a small hinge to allow the wings the fold back in bot mode (and maybe even mod it to allow the wings to slide further down the leg, then fold back). It all depends on how far you want to take this--but it would cut down on the parts-forming (which honestly doesn't bother me much).

Good luck with it and hope to see more on this.

I was wondering how you could make a Leader 1 out of a seeker. Nice job!

what would be the point? the legs are the same. I'd just glue a hinge to the sides of those legs there, and then attach the wings to that. they'll stick up above the knee a little, but they fold back so it wouldn't matter. I'd also cut the vertical tail fins off those connectors and then glue them to the top of the legs there, as doing both of these things would make it a dead ringer.

i was thinking about the wings, not the legs themselves, though i see your point, redline. :)

I agree. Starscream/Acid Storm/etc. are all F-15 Eagles, same as Leader-1. So that mold is already set up for him. Just needs the hinges on the wings and a new head now (through sculpting or modding).

Yours seems much more involved than mine.

I may have to borrow some of your methods if you don't mind.

    feel free.

Looking at a crankcase for the head cause of the visor and it is almost the perfect size for the seeker mold.

Main wing pegs into leg in bot mode(screw on underside of wing locks into the groove and peg)The red plastic is temp until i install the steel pegs.

Here is a primered prototype with the leg mods and the new head and removable shoulders(left it dark on purpose)

the removable wings and the horizontal small fins fold back to keep the wing snug in bot mode(steel peg will hold the wing to the leg)

lookin' good! It seems to me that it should be really easy to make those shoulders permanently attached to the arms though, so you'd not have to parts-form. That area of the TF is highly customizable!

Lookin' pretty good. If you can get your hands on a Titanium W/W Jetfire, that would make a mighty fine head. Or you could have someone cast one. [IMG]

    This looks very nice.

Did you have to modify the Crankcase head you used?

    Somewhat,

I chopped it in half and rounded the forehead, sides(ears) and chin so it still folds into the nosecone like the seeker head.

Started on a secondary head(movie Stockade) that is really growing on me.Need to round the top of his head so the Mohawk disappears.

And modded some alt mode missiles from a MP Screamer(missile will be silver and the housing will be black)
