Forgive me if I wax pessimistic.

    EA acquires Bioware and Pandemic.

I anticipate once great studios to churn out mediocre licensed titles in the near future. And does this mean the next two Mass Effect chapters are dead before the first game is released?

So, Pandemic and BioWare will be making sports games now?

That is easily one of the worst things I've heard...as it relates to gaming.

I hope they'll leave them alone as EA has done with Maxis.

Show me one development house that has improved after EA touched them.
    Show me one.
This is the company that said:
"Hey look, this NFL 2K5 is considered better than our Madden Football this year. We could try to implement all the features of this game in next year's release and really up the quality of the next Madden, or we could buy the license out from everyone else and just churn out the same thing over and over again. Let's just buy the license."

I wouldn't say they improved, but I wouldn't say they've gotten worse, as Maxis has released under EA Sim City 3000, Sim City 4, The Sims series, and they're working on Spore. They're like...an exception to the rule or something.

In my depression I had forgotten about Maxis.

It is good to see EA doesn't ruin everyone. Maybe Bioware will still be a name that is synonomous with quality after the purchase -maybe.

    Sad. Very sad.

I wonder how this will affect Bioware's upcoming MMO?

Yeah, but do you think EA will change anything around? The last thing I want to see is a smackload of advertisements strewn about the game's Venezuelan landscape.

And in regards to your quote, I know World in Flames is coming out, I was actually referring to any possible future games after World In Flames.

Can't say that Bioware's future was all that bright anyway. Pandemic was kind of meh too.

How could Bioware's future not have been bright? Pretty much every game they put out is gold....except for Jade Empire, which was merely pretty good.

Buy out the competition and make them irrelevant, just like they did with Westwood.
