They really pulled out all the stops for that display, eh?   Oh well, whatever it takes to keep the costs down.

Looking at these new images is leaving me conflicted (again), part of me says "that's too much, rad homage or no, it's still just a Deluxe!" and the other says "you'll have birthday money as of tomorrow, just save some of it for this ya dingus". Kapow are getting a small batch in but they're not doing pre-orders and just putting them straight up online once they have them, if I can snag one in time then I may have to treat myself as long as the price isn't too stupid.

Megatron demands a show of force to dissuade any enemies, new or old, but Primal suggests they begin by extending a hand of friendship -- after so long, the fires from the War of the Primes would surely have burnt out.

These pics make me really look forward to this set even more. I just need to get some green paint that matches Skullcruncher's green, (and possibly some gold for detailing) and Megaligator will have a body waiting for him!

 

Was this toy ever released, well i just checked and i guess it wasn't. Would be good for a 3rd Party to pick this up. it looks cool.

I cancelled my pre-order. The figure looks great and I love the art involved in this project (The mini comic looks awesome) but I can’t justify paying the price necessary to obtain it. Not with MP Cheetor being cheaper and coming out a month after Convobat.

If HLJ priced it a bit more forgiving like they did with Deadlock I may have stayed on board just because this is somewhat Beast Wars related but the price is just too high for a deluxe IMO, exclusive or not.

I do look forward to seeing pictures from the people who do end up buying this though  

 

Well, I pre-ordered him on HLJ as soon as he went up on there.. then the pound plummeted, so I\'m hoping for a little economic recovery before I get charged for him at least.. but whatever, I\'m just glad I can get him and he wasn\'t some Primus forsaken Million Publishing exclusive like that Dogfight I\'ll never own.

 

The Million Publishing Dogfight and (Runabout?) set was going really cheap in Asia. Chinese and perhaps Japanese sellers had a glut of them. They were going for about 30-60 dollars last time I looked. Can't remember where, though.

When a deluxe costs MP or 3P money, I think something has gone wrong. "Exclusive" = price gouging.
I think they'd be better off making this a semi-exclusive and charging a little (a LOT) less!   But clearly, this is the effect of an over-saturated market, where doing a more mainline release would maybe lose it among the hundred other releases?

 

Had this been a two-pack with a properly painted "Mega-Alligator" body I would've bit, even if it had been more expensive. This though, I just can't do.

 

that dark blue looks bad in those display pictures...

 

He looks cool, just not $100 cool.

 

I wish they kept the Mindwipe gun and shield if it was a gang molded part to the bat mold.
