I know on some online sites it says that the eHobby Autobot and Decepticon 3-packs (Rodimus, Kup, Scrapheap, Scourge, Cyclonus and Galvatron) are limited edition, but does anyone know how limited they are, or how many sets will be made?

Limited as in; in Japan, they are only available from eHobby and they only sell those by preorders (sometimes they sell "leftovers" though.) :)  In a way it is easier to buy those outside Japan.

I po'd the Autobot set. Don't care too much for clear Decepticons. And really I just want the better colored Kup and the Junkion. The blue crystal Hot Rod is just an afterthought.

I haven't pre-ordered them yet, but I'm also having second thoughts. It's a helluva lot of money for, if I'm honest, the Junkion figure which will most likely be released seperately at some point anyway. I don't have the matrix from the BiS set so I wonder how much use the clear blue Rodimus will be to me? I have no idea how I would display the Decepticon set...

    I got both.

The CONS well because that is what I collect and kind of cool clear.

The BOTS well I dont mind them as much since I want the junkion and kup probably and will deff sell off rodimus probably.

I was going to get both sets but just settled with the Con set. I must have clear Cyclonus, and I don't mind Galvy mould. Without the wtf chrome on the turret he looks better. I wish eHobby don't charge on the spot though :(

i guess i am the only one who thinks these will go the way of the botcon seeker set...they are going to go way higher in price in the secondary market once they are no longer available on retail.

As with pretty much all things Classics, these are likely to go up in value.

I think this is the way of almost all eHobby sets. I got the Orion Pax set for like $30 when I first started collecting, I did a price check on eBay a few weeks back and was surprised by how much the price went up.

i think mainly since all of these are "crystals" ...or clear plastics schemes...they are going to go nuts....look at crystal convoy...before it got KO'ed that thing went for bank....

I also think these sets are not that limited.
Anyways, I just want Scrapheap out of these.

these are going to be like the skywarp and thundercracker tf's...the ehobby site said they are taking orders thru a certain date...and then these would ship in march....

that was listed in a earlier thread....

so how ever many orders are set is going to determine how many sets of autobots and decepticons are made....

and you know down the road a few years...supply is going to be outpaced by demand...and these will increase in value....

I actually think they will be fairly limited when compared to things like Skywarp/Thundercracker if they are completely on a "make-to-order" run. I say this because a lot of people seem to be on the fence about ordering a set from an importer like BBTS or TFsource so they may not be ordering as many as popular past items so that they are not sitting on a lot of stock.

Couple that with the amount of Dark Skyfires that every importer seems to be stuck with and they may be a little hesitant to over-order on the stock (I think RK and their great price on that item prettymuch smoked all the other online retailers).

Collectors who don't buy these sets now will suffer from "non-buyers remorse" later. As with all things 'Classics', when in doubt... buy it anyway.

I couldn't agree more. BBTS is down to 13 Autobot sets and 48 Decepticon sets. Seeing as how they only made as many sets as they had pre-orders, once they are sold out they are gone. Like, forever. Not to mention the insanity that will ensue if FansProject announces a clear blue/blue themed Protector.
