I don't like it either, but it appears necessary to enable articulation at the hips that wouldn't otherwise be possible.

I suspect the first segment of the leg that attaches to the hips will be blue like the skirt, so that it's not as noticeable, and then his thighs will be silver.

That's how I'd do it, at least.

Yeah, I'd like to see a price on this... DX9 can go pretty pricey, imo. That Megs isn't $50+ to me.  

That hip skirt also bothers me... but the alt mode is so nice looking, I probably won't bother putting him in robot mode much!   Actually, I'm not sure if there's really a need for a tiny tape recorder toy... considering the MP one is closer to real life size (which is ideally what you'd want, right?). But being an avid Legends/Scout collector, there's little chance I'll pass on this guy (assuming the price isn't obnoxious).

 

I'd really like to pick up just one char, I'm pretty sure I don't have the space or interest to have 2 legends collections (g1 and cybertronian modes) yet to dx9 soundwave's advantage with IF perceptor and blaster it might be nice to have him in a unique mold. Still if he towers above IF Blaster (nd i have IF twincast too) I'd be rather bummered.

Also, dx9 seekers doesn't look to slick im SOOO glad IF is releasing them same time so I don't get tricked into buying both.

The key word here is SEEMS. galvatron, ratchet, cyclonus and scourge have all been re-released with minor changes. ironhide had small paint differences (and red tonality) while I can't see anything new in Blur, Kup should get a Pax remold... All of these are now sold as 3 packs instead of 2 packs, expect scourge who is sold individually.

 

I phrased that poorly; I meant if IF was making a new Cassette Recorder mode Soundwave I believe they would quickly turn around and release a SoundBlaster repaint. Like they did with their City Commander. And you're right about the three packs. I think of them more as ways to get old product out to people who just started collecting Legends, but they did do remolds, repaints and engineering fixes in the Scourge/Cyclonus/Galvatron pack. I like most of the changes too (except Cyclonus's weird feet).

I like both aesthetics; IF's IDW and DX9's G1. So far I've been good doubling up on a few characters. Both companies have been running these lines for a few years now so overlap was inevitable. Especially since DX9 is choosing from a smaller pool of characters. By choosing IDW designs IF has a lot of original/new characters like Wingblade & Drift, Japanese characters like Dai Atlas and even Beast Wars and Prime characters like Knockout if they want. DX9 has limited to the characters that appeared in the Sunbow cartoon. And that's fine; it's not like they will run out characters before they end their line.

 

True dat, but they have me very worried about Wheeljack (and Mirage)
As we still don't have any legends for all the fast car g1 bots (which we all are attached to different degrees)
I'm increasingly worried about War in Pocket having changed scale. If this had been the scale all along it would be fine, but
I have some dx9 products that don't scale (to my taste) to other dx9 products.

TBH, having already abandoned Generations and MP scale JUST the idea of having to restart on characters I already have
... makes me twitch... besides IF already has me convinced on a much broader roster than I had initially envisioned when I started collecting as you said.

 

I am worried about DX9 and the carbots too.
Mirage especially seems like excellent candidate for the Legends treatment. I like to see more Autobots in their line-up, and I guess the way to the communicate that is with my wallet. But if they keep putting out figures as nice looking as this Soundwave it's hard to argue DX9's choices.
It could turn out the little Ravage is garbage, but with their concentration on movie/season 3 characters seeing that little Ratbat really made me happy.

It looks like Mech Planet's Soundwave will be a darker blue, but DX9's has better articulation. That's cool. I still think I'll get both. Curious though how THS07 and THS08 compare with DX9's designs. Other than the packback, it's one of my favorite DX9 designs.
