Looks like a nice set of Dinobots. I wonder if there is a gaping hole on the Dino chest of Snarl.
sweet, be nice to have the full set finally
I didn't realise they weren't all out yet. Very nice though. I'm hoping for a boxset just because it's easier than buying them all separately (and hopefully a little cheaper, too).
I don't really want to double-dip on Dinobots, but I can make an exceptions for tiny ones.
Nice sculpt, but a few things bother me -- at first glance -- about the execution of it, mainly having to do with colors. 1) They seem to have gone mostly with grey plastic here, which looks fine in itself and is cartoon accurate (like yellow over gold), but it doesn't match the silver paint they used for the previous Dinobots. I like my teams to look uniform darnit! 2) And then there's the light grey elbow joint, which doesn't seem to match with anything! 3) And finally, the painted plates are poor color match to the plastic ones, which is especially jarring in dino-mode since they're right next to each other.
But like I said, the sculpt IMO is largely good (love the detail inside the split tail!) and I'll still be getting this guy for sure.
Edit: Oh forgot to mention -- waist swivel! That'll forgives many sins. Wish more (any?) of his D-bot brothers had it, esp. Grimlock.
This is a good sign. Getting updated color pics of both Snarl and Grimlock. They must be coming soon. Cannot wait!
Yes a lot of grey area there really should match the others. Let us hope that is just the way the test is and not the final production...
Personally think face/head is very not here or there but hey looks good otherwise.
I actually think the head and face look fine. Very plain but reminiscent of Snarl. I'm really interested in in seeing how he transforms. Slag and Sludge had some different engineering than what we've seen before on dinobots.
He is that kind of character in his depiction. I am toon all the way but obviously toy and even comic he looked much different so fair enough.
Transformation always interesting, you know you are getting that with dx9.
Going back to previous comment, bit concerning but Grim also seems to have a lot of unpainted grey parts which would seem to suggest the unpainted is the way they are going. :/
Maybe leaving some parts unpainted was the quickest/best solution they had for the problem of the painted joints breaking.
Nice to see waist swivel. Maybe these DX9 will get this guy released by September.
Can't wait to complete my legends Dinos.
They look cool, but for the size / price I was willing to wait to see what Hasbro did with the Dinobots. I'm glad I did.
Noice! These G1-esque cartoon accurate Dinobots will be the first DX War in Pocket toys I pick up!
What flight stand is that?
How tall are these? Small deluxe? Any comparison with a common figure?
I can't express how excited I am to complete this set!!!! I shouldn't be so keen, but this is the most affordable, best looking set of G1 Dinobots since... G1. I kept waiting.
I kept waiting.
But Hasbro never cared to release anything like this, so I'm super excited to see DX9 take a crack! Seriously, these Dinobots kick @$$. The monster-Dinobots from Bayverse are pure garbage, Hasbro.
They're legends sized.
Well, yeah. But they're legends figures of large characters. So how big is a large legends, or is it, say, literally the size of the recent Hasbro Insecticons?
They're legends scale, not sized.... Bigger than legends cause dinobots are big dudes, but smaller than deluxe.
