Love the box, the other boxes were very mehh but this one i will keep a bit longer.
I thought in video reviews the crown might have not been placed right but perhaps it really is that ill fitting. Maybe it can be doctored to fit better. Maybe it wont matter much once in hand.

Yeah, the crown looks comically bad! Why go to the trouble of making it if it's going to look THAT!  No biggie to me though, as I wouldn't ever use it anyway.

Now the box, that's a different story. Looks awesome, just as Cha Chi says.

I hate the dino arms and lack of head articulation.

    Aside form that, I'm down.

Am I the only one that doesn't like how thin the jaw is? It's not enough to keep me from getting it (already ordered from Baba), but it does look a bit off to me.

...straight-up homage: good catch!..i loved this picture on the first three dinobots but never realised DX9 were still doing their typical vintage-packaging callout with it...

...whoever designs their war-in-pocket packaging is on-point; always get a huge nostalgic rush out of opening the figures...

He looks like a goober in dino-mode. Kinda cute.

How do you get an Autobot faction symbol on his botmode chest though?

That is going to be an issue unfortunately. It'll look wonky in dino mode. Put it on his crotch?

there is NO QUESTION that they were INTENTIONALLY going for that... the image is staged the exact same way!

Here's an image of them together to see it even more clearly.... very clever. Love it.

...they’re not 1:1 copies, but they’re all clearly homages to the vintage artwork and packaging, just like all the other war-in-pocket releases...

Oh they're absolutely vintage style... I think the triangle cut-out in the corner is the closest 'homage' that most of these make to the old Dinoriders packaging.

The one tableau on the Grimlock package (and apparently also part of it on the Swoop package, maybe others) is the only 1-to-1 almost exact replica of the Dinoriders image.

...the staging and environmental color schemes of the new artwork riff on the originals, too, as does the typographic layout: it’s not as slavish as the seekers’ diaclone homage, but it’s definitely there...
