The whole canopy slides up a wee bit :)  it leaves a gap but you can choose up or down pft on the left dx9 on the right.

I didn't know they did that. That's a nice little feature.

Indeed. It makes me glad I went the PT route.

Huh, I didn't know it did that either! But for me, the cure is worse than the disease in this case; I'd rather have the neck block than a torso gap.

I recently got one of the ghost Starscream figures, and it says dx9 as far as I know, I could not find any of the KO versions, but I was hoping for advice on not breaking the plastic? One came broken on his right arm in the box, so I was hoping to avoid it happening during the first transformation, should I get any oil or lubricants? Or perhaps put him in the freezer for a while to try and cause any plastic tolerances to shift a pinch so I can free up joints before the plastic gives way?

Got my replacement copy today opened him up and noticed the ball joints were all well oiled, so they move well, but I have broken thigh swivels now, I was hoping to compare the legs of the original, broken one to the new intact one and maybe swap the legs so I have a "best" version, but both versions have bubbles in the leg swivel pegs, trying to slide them out of the leg broke both right thigh swivels. :c

so, what do I search for to find that KO in solid plastic? or are the designs just too fragile for a fast fun bot? I don't want a hybrid style "mini masterpiece" style bot, I want a small fun seeker to be terrified of big bots, Iron factory is a bit too bulky for my desired look.

I think the pocket toys seekers are 1:1 and the MFT are slightly larger. The PT ones seem to be junky from the reviews and whatnot that I've seen. Sorry yours have been breaking :/ Cheapest place is probably hzj on ebay or show.z after that. hzj401 | eBay

Yes Pocket Toys are 1:1 same size as DX9. However I haven't had any qc issues with mine. I have all 6 PT KO DX9 seekers and so far no issues. The price for all 6 was a steal.

I gave in and ordered an amethyst iron factory seeker, since the dx9 designs are bland if not in clear, and thus brittle, plastic, hopefully someone does a good tiny starscream that is a bit different but still classic styled.

...bland, really?..i'll grant that they're G1-purist by design, but those designs are baby-masterpieces; i'd be surprised if they weren't the same designer as magic square...

Yeah, I don't know how one wants a "classic styled" Seeker and isn't content with DX9's figures of them. Aside from the tail fins on the back instead of the ankle they're right on the money.

I just like a little more detail on my robots is all I meant by that, the dx9 design is more like MP Megatron than MP10, I like the designs like MP10, where there is just a little more detailing on the robot, like classics did to the seekers.
