This is the reason. I love the one ghostscream comes with.
@daimchoc posted a photo of the two ghosts side by side (IF and DX9). Source
Which one is on the left? It looks much clearer.
As per the post: Iron Factory and then DX9. IF has more details.
IMO the thing to judge ghost Starscream figure by is if all the color parts are cast in tinted plastic instead of thinly painted. The painted bits don't pipe light.
Hard to tell from the comparison shot.
Finally we have...clear photos of ghost Starscream.
...okay that was terrible. Sorry.
I received X16G and I totally love it! I have all DX9 seekers and I love the design but this is by far my favorite because it comes with the coronation set and the colors are fantastic.
The only minor complaints are for the stand (I prefer the generic ones I bought on Ebay) and for the cape: I think it should be pegged on two slots on the wings but it is very difficult if not totally impossible, it stays in place anyway.
Cool beans. I like how they changed out the smirking facing headsculpt.
It's too bad his crown looks kinda dumb.
The detailing on both the crown and the shoulder pads leaves a bit to be desired.
The good thing about the DX9 Coronation set is it can go on any non-conehead seeker from DX9.
All hail Skywarp?
Skywarp is the only one with no silver paint on his arm rifles, he is special
Well, I wouldn't say that is a feature exclusive to DX9.
You can put the IF coronation head, shoulders, and cape on any of their figures. Plus theirs looks awesome.
I really like the look of these but am struggling to get a feel for their scale, especially as compared to standard HasTak size classes. Has anyone got any handy photos?
Here you go
Thanks a bunch for your quick reply!
It looks like it will scale well with CW Bruticus.
...they scale perfectly with combiner wars devastator, and likely POTP predaking, too...
CW Devastator? That's some wild sense of scale you've got. Cement mixers generally don't dwarf fighter jets.
These are marketed as Legends class, but they are a lot larger than HasTak Legends. Traditionally HasTak Legends are around the size of Hot Wheels or Matchbox vehicles, which results in smaller robots, though they have gotten a little bigger in recent toy lines.
These Seekers are closer to what some call Commander or Scout class - which is between Legends and Deluxes.
For comparison: Legends Robots in Disguise Windblade, Legends Transformers Prime Soundwave, Legends Combiner Wars Skywarp, Legends/Commander DX9 G1 Thundercracker, Deluxe Combiner Wars Skydive, Deluxe/Warrior Robots in Disguise Starscream, Voyager Transformers Prime Dreadwing, Voyager Combiner Wars Silverbolt.
...mass shifting is the combiners' raison d'être; it's why they're so much more formidable than their constituent parts...
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, but the Rainmakers seem to be featured on the side of Usurper's Ghosts box. I pulled this screenshot from RFC Reviews video review.
