This is plausible actually. It's an off-the-wall fan design, so that could explain the 'K' designation, and the 'ancest' part could refer to something primal or prehistoric - much like his alt-mode.

Which sub line is this meant to fit in with? Is this beast wars or a comic line? I like it but not for a standalone.

 

It reminds of the anime Big O for some reason. So the K line's previous release was Overwatch?

 

Hopefully someone can answer your question. All i know, is that many awesome linearts, where they change into beast, but mechanical looking, not like actual animals as was the case for Beast Wars. I had seen the Optimus Primal (i dont know if that was DX-9 or whom), and then Sunson Son was wondering / guessing if this could be the Rodimus, which i love even more. I remember the company (so probably dx-9?) showed 2 shadows, one being Rodimus, the other one Sideswipe. Their artline looks very awesome, so i am wondering how this will turn out in toy form. I am no expert in the matter, just liked what i saw a while back (cant remember which convention)

 

Generation Toy showed those, so if this is based on the same design then that's two kitty Roddys to choose from!

I can't place it, but wasn't that mentioned also in the older Marvel comics as a reason for Hot Rod/Rodimus' leadership capabilities (or something of the kind)?

I was wondering if perhaps they'd do another Overwatch character who turns into a Transformer but that seems to make very little sense unless he turns from robot to robot or robot to human or whatever. Then again, I've only seen the Overwatch characters; I've never actually played the game, so I dunno.

It's definitely a Hot Rod head. Orion Pax is a fair bit different. I suppose the better question would be to ask if it's actually meant to be Hot Rod, or if it's just (heavily) inspired by Hot Rod.

I haven't read the Marvel comics yet but there's an early episode of G1 season 3 where he basically goes into the matrix to learn from the Primes who came before him. So there's that.
