The colors work for me big time, but looks a bit too busy for an MP. It needs to be smoothed out some for it to look like a faithful MP interpretation. Perfect for a classics update thought.

Also what's up with both astrotrains having space shuttle feet. Is that something in the comics? I want little stubs like the g1.

I'll wait until these are released to buy. Maybe one of them, due to transformation, can have the feet taper off G1 style...

That sounds about right price wise at MP size.

I hope the alt modes will have more paint than that. I mean the robot mode has plenty of paint including the wings and suddenly you lose that after transformation. What happened there?

This looks really nice. I prefer Toyworlds (particularly the alt modes), but this has the colours I prefer and looks to be just as good.

Great to have two great looking Astrotrains to choose from.

That was my first thought as well - the shuttle mode looks too busy.

Who am I kidding though, I'll probably get both Astrotrains.

It actually is not too surprising. With so many 3P companies its fairly easy for at least 2 companies to be working on the same character. And when 1 company decides to reveal, it kind of forces the other to reveal as well.

Anyways, both versions look more classics than MP so I will pass. Both look good though with this a bit better in my book.

Since Astrotrain was always used as a transport I have no problem with him being big in my Chug display

Just give the locomotive a short stumpy funnel and this'll be the perfect Classics Astrotrain!

the more i look at it the more i dislike this one. the shuttle is a bit busy, which i don't have a problem with, but the train mode look awful to me. Toyworld improved the shuttle from g1 by removing the blocky bits, and got the train mode perfect. DX9 has a good head and the color going for it. All things considered TW won this one for me even if he remains white, he still looks better in my eyes.

DX9 is a company to keep an eye on though. they seem to be pumping out some good stuff. this ones a miss for me but they are hitting the mark for me on other projects of theirs.
