Looking back at 1985 character designs like this, I'm reminded of how much of my enjoyment of G1 TFs at the time was due to my imagination, as opposed to the actual quality of the show or the figures. Modern updates on the characters, heavily inspired by the originals, is totally my jam -- and I'm glad so many artists are designing new figures.
It's been said before D denotes Masterpiece scale. For instance d12 Gabriel is their mp omega supreme!
First TFM, then XTB and now DX9! It's a pity there are so many third part companies making Stunticons, or I might have a sense of satisfaction... My Wallet.... Me... If we get fake cab feet I'm out
All I can think of is that XTB is a FansToys company. After the lowblow DX9 scored with their OS, it's now FT's turn through XTB to score their own .... In the end all 3rd party roads lead to Keith
My guess is that they are saying these are going to compete with Xtb Stunticons as these will be very G1.
Just depends which way they go with the design. If they go the way of Chigurh and Gewalt I have no interest, if they go the way of Gabriel I'm interested.
I'm buying this set as well as XTB, IDGAF. We went from zero Menasors to 2! (IDW does not count as G1 to me.)
I haven't purchased anything from dx9 thus far. Will need to see how G1 & toon this looks. This is just a few days away, I wonder who is further along. Still I want the best overall, not necessarily the fastest to market.
Is Takara maybe planning a Stunticon set? They really wouldn't be as complicated as say, the others....And they have experience with Carbots and trucks....
Okay, I like my combiners to be different companies, HEAR ME OUT. Now, as you all know that the stunticons are going to have to be very aerodynamic with no blocky parts, like with xtb's brilliant design with breakdown and dead end. Now, with bruticus, bruticus is a war machine with war written all over him. Unique toys does a really good job recreating a real life tank and jeep, with having the bland colors not really pop out, because it makes sense to not have that since you'll be shot out. Fanstoys I think can make a really good devastator, one with diecast and parts that have to recreate heavy artiliery construction vehicles. I say it's up to anyone to buy from dx9, but remember what makes the character the character.
