DX9 took an idea that seemed impossible and made it happen and people still complain. Incredible. G1 OS was giant turd and the last thing I'd want from an MP version is more of the same pieces falling apart and going back together. A 2-3 piece OS isn't even conceivable but here it is. A unified base mode that doesn't require disassembly. Its genius is what it is.

You're being the turd here complaining about people sharing their toy-accurate preferences.

    G1 Omega is classic.

By definition its a classic because of its age. But its still a giant POS puzzle. Its okay to have toy preferences and toon preferences. I didnt say anyone was wrong i just said its incredible and not what I'd want. Also I didn't call anyone names, champ. You did. Maybe tone down that trigger a little bit.

Well, yes and no. Certainly someone/some 3P could print ramps (I wouldn't be too happy to pay additional money and/or Shapeways prices but at least there'd be the option). However, ramps aside, the comparison was useful in showing the overall look of each base mode, and it seems to me that Gabriel's rocket tower/platform part is also underdeveloped if you will. Hence my use of "abbreviated". It might be OK looking on its own but after seeing the side-by-side I think I won't be able to be truly happy with it even with the addition of ramps (although those would go a long way to bettering base mode).

Like everyone else here, I'm waiting on a review. I haven't ruled Gabriel out totally and could still be persuaded if bot mode turns out to be so wonderful that I'll just endure base mode/wait for add-on ramps. I do like the apparently greater range of movement for the head and the lower body.

It's kinda funny how we have two options (GP where art thou?) for a friggin' OS, but one has taken partsforming to an extreme (two packages, people) and the other has tried to tidy up the transformation of a traditional partsformer at the expense of alt mode looks. Can there be no happy medium in this hobby lol

Yeah which ever one I get will be 99.9% of it's time in robot mode anyways so base mode is for me, close enough (I know that's not the same for everyone of course). Again, I know DX's is a render but it sure has the character feel to it for me. TG just feels lifeless when I look at it. I can't explain it any better.

I don't care for him in base mode that much but if the DX9 one is easier to go back & forth, I may consider doing it once in a while. The FT one however, nope, too much work. That's another reason I'm considering the DX9 one, aside from hopefully having better hips (can anyone yet confirm if they're better that FT's? I mean just a ratchet, no wobble),also the price.

What are the chances we'll get a review for DX9's by the end of August? Was thinking of keeping the 1st half of Fans Toys on preorder @ BBTS (30 day return policy if unopened) and when it goes through & I get it just hold onto it for up to the 30 days (I'm assuming that's what that means). I don't wanna miss out on FT's if I end up liking it more with it being sold out.

Maybe they could include some yellow ramps, just for base mode?

I see an awful lot of "this is epic" based on very little substance. I want this to be good too but for all we know the transformation could be ass and he falls over when you look at him.

i mean…could be. but that's not something DX9 is really known for. this isn't their first fig.

after seeing the reviews of FT omega, it's certainly not perfect.

People can't wait for this one so they're just getting the FT one instead...

...except the FT one isn't available yet either...

Still like DX9 bot mode more but the base mode is really tough to accept. I don't want it to bother me, but it does. Blargh.

    Lol

I've decided to wait. There's too much I'm not a fan of on ft and considering there's two other versions coming plus an inevitable titan from HasTak there's no rush.

That's fine, I'm in no rush. If DX9 is solid on his feet I'll probably go for him anyways.

I think transformation for DX9 is a lot more similar to FT than it seems to be. Less partsforming OK, but rocket, tracks and tank are still on their own. So only the legs and backpack are one, where the thighs are part of rocket lancing platform.

Considering we haven't seen a final proto for DX9's and we've seen FT's in package, FT's will certainly be available well before DX9's.
