Great review as always! I already thought the figure looked pretty good, but seeing him in this video confirms that he definitely has a place among my MPs. Can't wait to get him.

How is this just not an oversized classics figure?

I don't see it worth the money just so I can have something stand next to other figures in scale.

I see it as a very anticlimactic toy, since it's all so very familiar already.

I don't understand this line of reasoning.....

How else would you make a Formula 1 racing car that looks like Mirage? There are only so many ways it can be done and more often than not there will be similarities across the board. It's bigger, slightly more complex and fully articulated. Plus you don't have to partsform him. I bet an eventual official MP Mirage will have some similar elements to it aswell.

Plus the fact that those collecting to this scale don't have anything like this. Classics Mirage is way too small.

I'm really digging the figure but I just wish for the price, they would've given it a bit more polish. I'm mainly talking about the empty cavities for where the hands and thighs are stored -- I'm just a big fan of flaps or added detail to fill these spaces in. The small things like that really separates figures from the "things they do with a $10-20 retail toy" vs what I've come to expect from third party and/or MP scale figures.

Great review as always though, Ben! I was really looking forward to seeing these things up close and personal and I would agree -- if you were waiting on an MP Mirage, I can see this guy being a great stand-in

Exaggerate much? I dont remember classics Mirage's whole shoulder section rotating, folding his front spoiler in on itself, collapsing the rear wheels or being able to position the front wheels. Pretty major differences but still. Same character, similar alt. There are obviously gonna be some similarities.

Another excellent vid-review, Ben! I'm totally down with this figure based on the feedback you've given.

Are Unique Toys and DX9 the same? Everything I saw that was UT is no DX9.

DX9 is an independent group. While they are affiliated with Unique Toys, DX9 and Unique Toys are curiously 2 separate entities; DX9 designs and laid out the blueprints while Unique Toys does the manufacturing. It's a collaborated effort between 2 companies.

For those who have it, do the rotating shoulder pieces have a stopping point in robot mode? Or are they free-moving 360 degrees? Thanks!
