Does anyone know what is on the DVD that comes with the Takara TFC 9 Starscream? I just bought one on eBay last night and saw it comes with a DVD.

    Thanks!

It's a preview of some TF game that came out back in Japan for the PS2. It's a pretty cool preview. I can't remember if there's anything more on the DVD or just that.

I remember it is some crazy super thin DVD. I never actually watched it though.

I played that game and it's terrible. Too bad, considering what a nice roster it has...

Be aware that you'll need a region-free DVD player to play it. Won't work on anything else than a region 2 player.

I recall several threads that basically consisted of two camps:

Camp 1: "I have never played the game. Man, why does Japan get the awesome G1 games?"

Camp 2: "I have played the game. Man, does it suck."

Some people insist it's good, even after playing it. I believe Protoman is one of them, as he said the game was good during his TFCon panel on Transformer games.

I owned the game, played the game, and it's a horrible creature. Yeah, beat-em-ups are usually repetitive, but there's no excuse for the abysmal gameplay and design of the game. It's not fun to play.

I LOVE the game. But I'm a non-gamer and a (unsurprising) huge TF geek.

Now just about everyone here is undoubtedly a huge TF Geek, but I think MOST users who care enough about video games to have a PS2 capable of playing a Japanese PS2 Game are probably "Gamers" of some degree. I think anyone who has actual standards/expectations about game-play/mechanics etc. will probably be dissapointed.

Me, I just wanted to mash buttons and watch the pretty 3D G1 TF charcaters yell at each other in broken english about some CRAZY plotline about Shockwave slipping through time to make very bad things happen.

    I was a happy boy.

In any event, the preview DVD is pure eye candy, and probably gives you a good flavor of what the game was like (only prettier and disguisng the "bad" mechanics etc.)

    EDIT-

But the REAL treat of the set, as I'm sure you know, is powder-blue "anime" colored Starscream and the Seeker/Prime compatible Meggy-Gun :)

Well, I don't have a region-free player, so no big deal.

Thanks for the info! Can't wait to get the package.... Since I dived into collecting, I've been wanting this Starscream.

He is my FAVORITE version of the G1 Seeker mold, ever! I like him so much he is on the *extremely* short list of G1 guys I still own and will never sell (And this is coming from a guy who sold Grandus, Overlord, Liokaiser, etc. etc. in the last coulda years :) )

I'm sure you'll love him too!

I played the game as well. other than the huge roster, nothing remarkable. Very clunky control. I like beat em ups but this one wasnt a good one.
