Totally bums me out, seeing fine particles of dust on my expensive third-party man-toys.

What the hell? How am I supposed to keep them clean? Am I supposed to play with these stupid things or something?

    Dust.

You all think it's hurting our hobby?

Don't let dust ruin your collection but don't be anal about it either.

    Keep them in detolfs.

They’ll still get some dust on them, but it’s easily remedied with a can of compressed air or even the good ol’ pick-up-and-blow (lol).

Much easier to maintain the dust when they’re inside glass. For the stuff sitting outside, it’s much more annoying to clean. You gotta keep on that if you don’t want them dusty.

    Ebay:
Get a computer duster like this.

This is the absolute best way to dust your figures. Best part is, you don't even a name brand. The KO works just as well.

No, I used TaskRabbits to clean my collection. Not sure why they always looked offended. It's a task and they are rabbits right, right?

J/K. Bothers me some, but not enough.

Oh. Oh no you didn’t (lol).

I’m fighting with myself NOT to buy another detolf. I have them all in my computer room and
I really don't have space for another.

Except it’s bad. It’s getting REAL bad I tell you. I have some of my HotToys and such stuffed in with my TF’s now because I’m running out of space :(

I keep mine in cabinets to avoid the dust. I hate dust. And there's a lot of it here in the desert southwest region. So mine stay in enclosed spaces. No dusting = more time for other things and figures that stay lookin' sharp all the time. :)

Btw, the Ikea Brimnes series are basically dust-free enclosures and most of them offer either glass front or solid front doors, so you can choose between visible or hidden collection options.

I tried looking for Acrylics, but mostly found stuff for shop displays with locks on them and it was getting wrong fast.

I’ll probably just get some wood shelving from the container store, and some tiny brushes.

Not a bad idea to just distract yourself everytime you worry about it but eventually you will have to drive home and see your collection again.

I hate dust as well, but planning to get a bunch of glass detolfs when I move to my new place. The glass and lights presentation will only help make the collection look more professional and classed up.

I have an air purifier to help with the dust, but it doesnt get everything. I periodically take a cotton swab to get at it.

    :D  Hilarious name for a topic...
But to answer the question, it depends if the dust is officially licensed to give it that mold degradation look, or if it’s the Kind Of dust that helps convey that battle wear aesthetic. ;)

The dust could become a real problem instead of an nuisance when there is also humidity in the air, the dust will absorb the water and help rust to form on the metal parts.
