Transformers and Avatar. Both have an advanced race arrive on a (to them) foreign planet in search of a rare source of energy to help their planet. Both have that race take new forms to blend in with the natives. Both have a character live with and befriend a native. (One became a romance, the other a bromance) Both have a faction of the more advanced society join the natives against the militaristic bad guys. Both were noted mainly for their special effects.
If we were talking about cheap knock-offs, then easily hands down Transmorphers is a KO of Transformers. Really, really, crappy movie that tried to be the same as Transformers but was really a POS flick. If you like killer robots, stay away from Transmorphers. Sounds like they even tried to copy the name but modified it ever so slightly as to avoid copy-right rules. LOL!
duplicate movies simply proves that you can have a Master's Degree in Screenwriting from USC and still can't find an effin' library or bookstore with 20,000 unused ideas with a roadmap and a seeing eye dog.
The Bullet Train (1975) and Speed (1994) What are they about? A public transportation vehicle is rigged with a bomb that will explode if it goes below a certain speed level. How are they different? One film takes place in a bullet train, while the other takes place in a bus. What's the general consensus? The Bullet Train has no Tomatometer score at this time. Speed has a Tomatometer score of 90%. Which do you think is better? Two words: Sonny Chiba.
No Man's Land (1987) and The Fast and the Furious (2001) What are they about? A cop is assigned to go undercover and investigate a string of thefts involving cars. How are they different? One film is about Porsches and stars Charlie Sheen. The other is about ricers and stars Vin Diesel. What's the general consensus? No Man's Land has a Tomatometer score of 50%. The Fast and the Furious has a Tomatometer score of 52%. Which do you think is better? Porsches beat ricers anytime.
idk, apparently they said it didn't count, but what's more duplicate THEN that stupid company? or is it just that they do it "on purpose" that makes it not count? oh wait... movie studios do too! as they always recycle plots.
