I originally did this for the Cool stuff thread in the Toyark, but I think it qualifies (sorta) as artwork! I know the figure is old, but he's literally just come out in the UK, so its the first I've seen of him.

I have a higher res version here, which also has the one of the original shots...

Comments and stuff always appreciated! Apologies if you've seen this before, I don't know how many people from the art forums go round to the cool stuff thread.

i have both figures, very cool.

very cool photoshop, nice. only crit? looks good until i get to the wheels, which look kinda floating. suggest simulating shadows? reflection on tarmac?

Yeah it looked a lot worse before I added the dark patches under the wheels, and even then it still looks like its floating. I'm probably going to try to add some texture to that glow, to indicate tarmac (the tarmac is pitch black) when I can be bothered.

The problem is that my version of Photoshop (7 I think) is old, and doesn't remember where the radial blurr position is, so I'll have to either guess or start all over again. I'll guess first, and if it doesn't convince, I'll probably give up and do another.

Well KA, I've taken your advice and added a texture to the glow underneath the tyres, as well as a faint reflection (with texture as well) underneath.

I think it looks a little more convincing, the problem is the wheels are supposed to be a light source themselves, and that confuses me... :(

    Anyway here's the fiddle!

Before I forget, a higher res version of this is here...

    Comments please!

    Edit
Whoops, had to go back (again) because I forgot I reset some of the opacities on the layers when I redid some of it! I feel like George Lucas... always going back to 'improve' old work!
