my students are just going nuts today...is it wrong to ducttape their mouths shut?
No. Go for it.
Duct tape? nah. sounds like they need a leathal dose of Vitamin C.
Directions on how to administer correct dosage:
step 1) buy a tube sock
step 2) buy enough oranges to fill said sock about 3/4s of the way
step 3) beat targets with sock in a mace-like fashion
Repeat step 3 until you are too tired or target has been subdued/killed or local authorities step in.
Remember, oranges don't leave bruises.
Well I say there is nothing wrong with it. Another thing you could do is give them a tough pop quiz.
Duct tape over the mouth is only bad if they have moustaches.
make a sport of it and sedate them with tranqs.
fuzzied in 3, 2, 1...
Not enough corners to sit in today huh? Make them go run laps or something.
ive been thinking about that...i just dont want it to turn into a thing where they act craazy to get outta class, cuz then ill have a new problem...
the vitamin c idea may work though....
also, if the kids agree to allowing me to ducttape them, is it really so wrong?
they do if you bronze them first
You also need to find a way of restricing their arms so they can't detape their mouths... but can still do work.
Secure their wrists to their desks perhaps.
Lumpy, how old are the kids you teach? What grade? I teach 1st and 2nd grade... the parents would have a fucking cow if I did something like that (even though it would solve the noise problem).
EDIT: just looked in your "What do you do?" thread, noticed you were a middle school teacher. Most kids would be fine with it, but I'm sure there would be some uppity parent. Not to mention they would probably goof off in some other way. I've not had to deal with middle schoolers.
must be some kind of phase of the moon because my students were crazy too, I teach high school.
Duct Tape probably equals fired, unless you are in the union.
Reminds me of a teacher that reprimanded for putting liquid soap on a student's tounge for cussing in class. Other parents came to the teacher's defense.
here is the full story:
Just make them all smoothies with nyquil
I used to teach. I knew that duct tape wasn't allowed, so I didn't use it.
I was, however, allowed to apply band-aids as needed.
This created more of a distraction than it was worth though.
Now, I just kick the people who are talking out of my movie theatre.
Write political slogans on the duct tape and say the kids are involved in a protest!
That's wrong. You should duct tape those bastards to the wall instead so you can leave.
involving students in any kind of political rally/statement during school time here in the states is a definite no-no, that would get me canned before the duct tape would
Say they started it!
