This is my latest custom after i complete my commision work, argh......finally i have the time to give my hand on this longhaul. This figure actually waiting for my hands to mod him for few months ald....Im trying to do something like this....although I cannot do till 100% but i make it as close as possible.

Well, lets short describe about this LONGHAUL. Total is 15 LEDs inside. As the title above, he can power up the LED by a on/offswitch , 3x button cell is store within his chest, & by the way i also hide a female adapotor on another side of it. For long term display on my shelf , i prefer using external power source.

But however , the build in battery pack is better for photo shooting, and easier to bring it out to show my friends.

His chest i using fiber optic to transmit the lights. 2 x 3mm red LED for his eyes.

For vehicle mode, 2x white led, 1x orange with resistor on each side, all is 3mm LED.
Do you guys think i should add another 2 for each side for the grill there? There is 2 hole on each side down there.

When the battery is exhausted, only the orange signal will turn on, because it use minimal power compare to those white leds.

And this is the extra weapon, Big hammer, just use his big wheel to add a rod for him to hold it....

Sooner i will do a tutorial for this. Anyone want it? :)

    Thanks.

well, u may try ur hands on him...i think it will turn up as u will like it.

The things u mention is appear on my mind before, but after i complete the chest and leg's led, my brain all stuck and i think it is imposible to hide battery for the axe , if u hav it, u check his storage for axe...nearly impossile, i wish i can do tat too, mayb in future....:)

    Thx....

This is my "little magic" on him.....Yeah!!! Thx

Yah, it is stil transformable, but wondering how long the battery can last becoz of too much of the light inside.

this is Mission impossible 5, haha...

Good idea man, i have to make it "water-resistant" in order to do tat, haha....

Wow, much better, now if Hasbro can give us a more bulkier figure, that would be great.

    TUTORIAL UPDATE:

Argh !!! Finally i do have the free time to post tis tutorial, hope this can giving u guys a brief description on how i've done this.

    Tools:
    Dremel kits
    Hobby knife
    File
    Hair dryer
    Putty
    Super glue
    Epoxy glue
    Male/female adaptor
    Thin wire
    Flat black paint
    1.5mm Fiber optic cable
    200 ohm resistor x 3

    3mm LED:
2 red for eyes, 7 white for chest,4 white for headlights, 2 orange for signal.

After remove the screw, taken the head apart, take down the black gear part tat linking the head. Dremel the head area as shown. The pic show only 1 side dremel because can show u guys clearly the before and after. Then paint the area to flat black, left only 2 spot for the plastic to transmit the red lights to the eye.

File down 2 red led to fit the lenght of the head. Fit the led to the back part of the head. The LED's positive point downwards. Drill a hole there to allow ur resistor and a thin wire to sneak inside. Solder resistor to the LED's "positive". And for sure, thin wire to connect the "negative". Do u notice after remove the black gear part, the head will go off of his body because nothing block beneath, now this problem solve with the resistor placing like that.

After make sure the lights is on, i always seal the part with epoxy.

Now drill the chest with 1.5mm drill bit. Cut the side with hobby knife, make sure the part is well fit your switch. For myself i cut both side, another side is my adaptor for external power.

Fill in the fiber optic and seal it with putty. Using hair dryer to heat the fiber optic then bend them all to close enough. DO NOT overheat, it will melt, and the shape will run.

Dremel the area large enough to fit ur battery pack.

Place 2 led for the hole. Beware the back wheel when transform it back to vehicle, make sure the led doesnt block the hole to let the back wheel to fit into the hole. Put some putty to make the led hold in place. Then wire the on off switch to the LED's "+" and battery pack's "+", wiring the LED's "-" to battery pack's "-". And i put an aquarium tube to the fiber optic, it helps lock the LED in place later.

After that is complete, u can now link all the led to the place. Just make sure the "+" and "-" is wired correctly. If u wanna make external power as mine, easy, jus link the adaptor to the led, no need go over the switch.

Now solder the HEAD to the chest's middle LED. And i solder the female adaptor to the led as well. Is is to connect the LEGs part of the longhaul later. And seal it again with epoxy.

The vehicle headlights now. Dremel ur headlamps, signal, make a place to allow led to fit in. Make a drain to bury the wire later at the black part.
File ur orange led to as flat as possible after u place it. Apply small drop of super glue. Solder 2 white led and also super glue it to the head lights. Wired the orange led and now bend it to bury into the drain u've make. Apply small drop of super glue. Make sure u din block the hole there, the hole need to attach to the knee of long haul when he transform.

Notes: small drop of super glue is easier when you have to replace led, jus use hair dryer heat it up and jus take it off with plier. If too much of glue, u hav to drill it out, coz it will stick too tight.

Orange led's "+" wired to resistor, and another side of the resistor solder to the white led's "+". And so on the orange "-" to white's "-".
Now drill a hole to the back of the longhaul. Make 2 wire attach to the male adaptor, 1 for left leg 1 for right. After done, jus wire them to the correct "+" "-" to the white led.

You are done. So now what u have to do is jus join the adaptor, screw it back, switch it on and enjoy.

Minor problem occur when u transform it back to vehicle. The wire will block the front part to join with the vehicle. Easy, jus dremel tat area. Then everythings is settle. Hope this can give u guys a little help.
