Another one of my threads about my upcoming re-write of Revenge of the Fallen.

As we all know, Wheelie kinda disappeared during the course of ROTF. In my script, I intend to give Wheelie some closure. So, simply, should Wheelie die?

I know there's some that really didn't like Wheelie, but I kinda see him as an underdog and would like to see him in TF3 working in some capacity to bring down the Decepticon forces on Earth. Hopefully, he won't try to hump anything...

I agree... I'd like to see him in TF3, helping the Autobots out in taking down the Decepticons.

On the topic of your question, No. Wheelie needed a "hero moment" which, whether there was a scene explaining his disappearance or not, the writers denied him in the movie. He shouldn't die. He should do something heroic even though he's scared to/doesn't want to.

Per the discussion on TF3, I'd like him back too, in a fashion that lets him do something heroic. I liked his character. He was kind of like a more foul-mouthed Rattrap.

IMO, he's an annoying pervert. Prefer it if he stays missing along with Barricade, Jolt and Chromia.

In a rewrite, I'd prefer it if he dies. Just get stepped on by Devastator or something. :)

Hold off on it until TF3 comes along. I mean, I assume you're doing this in part for continuity's sake, right?

They left his ass in Egypt, and now he gets to walk home. When you're the size of an RC truck, that's punishement enough.

I voted NO, but I forgot he's no longer part of the Decepticon team. Although, he could manage to retrieve information a bit easier due to his small size.

And can also manage to capture a quick glimpse under Mikaela's short skirts...

    I always thought this would be a cool way for Wheelie to redeem himself/get more action;

In order for the rail gun to accurately strike Devastator, they need to get some kind of transponder on him, so Wheelie takes it upon himself to go all "Shadow of the Colossus" and scales Devastator, alternating between robot and vehicle mode as he ascends to the top of the beast. Of course when Devastator is hit, everyone assumes Wheelie's a goner, but when they sift through the wreckage they find him half-dead and beat to hell. Of course he has to drop in a sarcastic remark like "Didn't think you were gonna get rid of me that easy, did ya?"

    ^^

This. I more or less felt the same would be appropriate and give the character his much needed "hero moment".

On the other hand, I'd prefer this scenario for Devastator:

Sam and Mikaela are hiding in the village and the Decepticons can't find them. So, the Constructicons merge into Devastator and begin sucking up the entire village - whole buildings, tanks, etc. - forcing the Autobots and the entire military to gang up on him. I guess Wheelie could fit into that somehow, maybe make him the one to get sucked into Devastator's maw and blast his way out from the inside.

No. He didn't annoy me and he wasn't enough of a part of the story for his death to have much of an impact on the reader/viewer.

If it can played for laughs but not totally campy--kinda like Frenzy's death in the first movie--I say go for it. Otherwise, leave him be.

Don't worry guys. If Wheelie ends up living (which at this point, I'm sure he will), he'll be getting his own hero moment in the story. I don't think it's going to involve Devastator though...

i would prefer he'd appear in the wreckage of the final battle, crawling out from a ton of bricks. Then he would realize everyone else is leaving, and would start chasing after them.

    the end :p

I think ROTF needed a cut scene of Wheelie asleep, on the floor in that building in Egypt 2 days later. And he wakes up and yells "Wha? HAY!!!" from being ditched by everyone in there.
