Does anyone know why the DreamWorks logo wasn't present in the beginning of Dark of the Moon or any of the promotional materials?

I've been wondering that too... Was Dreamworks even involved in the movie?

I loved the sound of it when the fishing rod hit the water. Miss that a lot.

DreamWorks stopped distributing films with Paramount, and signed a deal to distribute with Universal. As a result, their logo was absent from the film, even though they were still involved with production.

From what I understand, DreamWorks was owned by Viacom from about 2005-2006 up until 2009 when they decided to split apart from them. They signed a deal with Walt Disney Pictures (negotiations with Universal broke apart shortly before then) but I don't understand how that could have any affect on wether or not they get credited. It's not like they are owned by an entirely different company.

I believe so, but their logo just simply wasn't in the film.

    Me too
I was waiting to see it
It would have made more sense too as it would have gone from the paramount logo to the dreamworks logo then from the stary night behind the moon to the stary night that was the sky of cybertron

Personally, I think it would've made more sense if it was the DreamWorks logo first, then the camera pans down to show the stars cascading around the mountain with the Paramount logo, then have the camera pan up again for the opening of the film.

Yeah, think about the various things they could've done with the whole "moon-motif" they had going and the fact that the Dreamworks logo has a moon!

All I know is about 4-5 years ago Dreamworks was going out of business. Yet even this year there are still movies with the Dreamworks logo.

I never have figured it out.

Yeah, the addition of the DreamWorks logo would have really worked considering Apollo's moon exploration programme played a prominent part of the film. It's a shame about the studio's problems.

My own variation: when the camera pans up to the fisherboy right after he casts his line, there's a shot of a spacecraft (Cybertronian/human) on its way to the moon. (I originally wanted to have the Ark be seen crashing into the moon, but it'd be too small to be noticed).
