in your opinion, who would you say is stronger? not just in physical strength, but overall (strength,skill,power,fighting ability)

 

Dreadwing in brute strength but Soundwave in cunningness alone.

Regardless I see a draw since they are both amazing.

They serve for different purposes, but SoundWave's menu of options seems to be wider, and SW is supposed to fail more seldom, than DW.
I feel, that is not correct option for me to compare them. Even having the same named qualities, they perform them differently.

Soundwave. He was the only Decepticon who actually got the job done and he was a friggin ace in that dogfight with Wheeljack.

 

If Soundwave was dumb, Dreadwing would win.
However, he is not. Soundwave wins.

 

Soundwave. He's like the psychotic serial killer in a slasher movie, but without all the campiness. He's just creepy, intelligent and probably the better fighter, because he's not distracted by emotions.

That was scary.

Soundwave is flawless, infallible, and cunning. Dreadwing is a strong, honor-driven personality. They're hard to compare, and they both deserve appreciation.

Either one would lead the Decepticons better than Megatron, however.

 

Laserbeak is king. Thus, Soundwave is king.

 

Soundwave is more cunning and smarter but Dreadwing has more brute strength and is probably a better fighter he also has more firepower or has appeared to so far.He also fought Prime and other Autobots.
Soundwave is faster smarter and more cunning but Dreadwing is stronger and is more capable as an all round warrior.

Both skills are as valid who would win in a fight Im not sure but it would be cool to see em face off in Prime and with the way things are going that could always happen.

 

Strength, in true essence, ONLY has to do with physical strength.

Dreadwing is a great warrior, no doubt. If Soundwave wasn't as intelligent as he was, he could fall under Dreadwing's abilities. But Soundwave is an even greater warrior, who invests into "knowing".

"If you know your enemy, and you know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself, and not your enemy, for every victory won, you shall also suffer a defeat. If you neither know yourself or your enemy, you will fall in every battle."

Soundwave knows how to fight, if the novels are anything to go by, he nearly beat Megatron once, but Megs liked and respected him so much, he spared Soundwave. Soundwave is fast, and swiftness is important in war (arguably more than strength), but in his smaller mass, he can be easily damaged...if he can be touched. If Soundwave falters, and gets one medium-good blow from Dreadwing, he'd likely be toast. But if Dreadwing found a way to out-smart him, plan earlier and plant traps in the right places, he'd have Soundwave easily.

Dreadwing has the advantage in physical strength, boasting superior armour, power and weaponry; his cannon can shift between lasers and grenades, and he has his trustworthy bombs.

Soundwave is the sole Decepticon who focuses on a defensive style rather than trickery or brute force. He waits, counters his enemies moves, retaliates with an efficient strike and continues. He could easily parry Dreadwing's blows and strike an effective counter-attack, especially with the help of those tentalces.

I would vote for Soundwave. While Dreadwing may be bigger, tougher and well-armed, Soundwave is well-prepared and would easily turn Dreadwing's own force against him.

Is everyone forgetting Laserbeak, Soundwave's first line of defense that takes out Airachnid and the Jackhammer with minimal shots?

 

What was up with that? Wheeljack says the Hammer can "take a punch," but it's been floored twice now by tiny lasers.
