Draxhall Jump has put up more concept images of the old Transtech line.

    http://www.draxhall.com

For those who don't know, Transtech was 'supposed to be' the new line of Transformers after Beast Machines. Plans got changed and we have the AEC Trilogy instead. There has been at least one prototype of a toy made (Starscream) and Draxhall Jump, an art studio that was asked to make designs for the line, has updated their website over the past 7 years with images of their vision of Transformers.

And from what was said at Botcon, Transtech Starscream and Cheetor were going to be shuffled into the tail end of the Cybertron line, but were ultimately shelved again.

Wow, a LOT of new, cool Transtech stuff in there. Awesome.

If only it wasn't dead...:(  Come on IDW! You've got such a hardon for Beast Wars; why not do something fans really want and make a proper sequel to both it and G1?

Woah! some of the concepts in the 40's look like an inversion of transtech. If they are in fact transtech, it looks like a bio heavy rather than tech heavy set of designs.

I'm not sure those are Transtech concepts. They've got a bunch of different properties they've worked on mixed in there, so those are probably concepts for something else.

I love how time heals all wounds. I remember the great amount of hate these concepts brought about.

I was priviledged enough to visit the studio a few times and see these things. From what I recall the story would have been amazing. Then again I am a BW lover and this was a continuation of the story with minicons.

    Thanx

Have to say I'm kind of glad that this series never got made. The designs look cool, but I wasn't really impressed when I saw the Cheetor proto. The Starscream one looked awesome though, but ultimately I think the reason this line was shelved was that these designs would have been very difficult to faithfully create in toy form.

However, if you look at some of the designs (Megatron for one) you can tell that they did borrow ideas from them when creating the Armada toys.

I've never really been a big fan of Transtech. It had some neat ideas, but it also had some pretty dumb ones that wouldn't have translated well into actual toys. It's a pity that nothing has ever come of all these designs, but I think that the decision to go to a simpler, more kid-friendly line with Armada was the right call in the end.
