So, being a Dragonball fan i've always wanted a decent action figure for some of my favorite characters and in my research the only line that looks half decent is a line called "Hybrid Action"

Anyone own any of these figures and can give me a decent review of one? Mainly the articulation and durability. They seem to retail for 1200-1400 yen on HLJ.

Any input will be read and appreciated!

I saw a huge amount of them at TRU when I was looking for 08 BB. They look pretty awesome and much better than the Collection Series.

I lost all interest in DB/DBZ/DBGT when it was imported to the US. Those were some of the worst dubs I'd ever heard. And dont even get me started on the music >)<

Oh and I agree with your sig, Beast Wars suck.

You both fail for hating on Beast Wars. Nothing like denying the rebirth of a franchise.

The early dubs sucked. Once they got up to the second half of the Freiza saga, it got pretty good. They finally got excellent when Perfect Cell rolled around.

The new boxsets are excellent though, the dubbing has been redone with the good VAs, original background music, etc. AND CURSING!!!

I haven't seen the hybrid figures yet. Which TRU was it Times square?

The remastered boxsets are great! I love Vegeta :D

I think he is referring to the Jaks Pacific repackaged Bandai figures. Which have been gone for almost a year around here. Are those the same? I thought the Hybrids were new, or more recent.

It was the TRU out in Bay Parkway, Brooklyn. It's this small isolated community between the Verazzano Bridge and Coney Island.

US DBZ was unwatchable. When they reaired everything from Raditz to half of the Freeza saga 8 times I had run out of patience. Some friends of mine had the Spanish dubs of the Majin Boo Saga and the GT Android Saga. The Spanish ones only translated the words of the Japanese songs and left all blood and cursing in.

I bought a bunch of them and started a thread about it, but it didn't seem to garner much interest. I like them, I'd snap some pics but they are boxed up for my impending move. I think they're great figs, great articulation, display stands alternate hands/heads/torsos. The only one I had that was loose out o the box was SS Trunks ( I tightened him up with some crazy glue), the rest are great.

Oh wow, that thread is pretty recent to. Stupid me for not searching first >_>. Maybe we can combine the two?

Is a V-Crotch when the hips/legs cant move to the side, thus destroying any decent articulation? If so I might have to take a big pass on these and get the DX figures which offer no articulation but look cool.

Too bad the Kuririn DX figure is sold out :-(

EDIT: FYI, My opinion of Beast Wars is positive and i've grown to accept the DBZ dub.

The v-crotch joint does not hinder articulation at all. But Mine didnt really stand properly. Yay for in flight stands :D .

They are roughly 4 inches - around the size of the G.I. Joe figures but some can be slightly smaller like Vegeta or slightly bigger like Brolly.
