The villain was not my problem. The main problem is...... Hmmm......

    Problems with the Dragonball Movie:
    -Bad Acting
    -Bad Writing
    -Stilted dialogue
-Action Action Action Fight Sequence Action
-Cgi was crappy, ignorable if the rest of the movie was good
-Cant really blame the director but since he did have a hand in the creative process then he is partly responsible for the crapfest this movie was, mostly for letting this crap get past teh drawing board.

    No.
Accuracy and plot-arc choice were not the problem. Hell, if anything, I think it would have been worse; Dragon Ball just will not work in live-action.

It was more of a case of Hollywood once again taking a very popular established property, deciding they know better than everyone else, and rewriting all the characters, changing the location and ignoring escential concepts.
Basically turning the movie into another generic super hero flickthat barely resembled the source material.

In all honesty Dragon Ball would be better as a CGI cartoon movie like the increadibles.

Dragon Ball Evolution dragged it balls too long even for an 80 minute movie. What do you think adapting a 291 episode anime into a big-budgeted live-action film would be like?

The only very, VERY small redeeming quality about the movie was that the guy who played Piccolo is apparently a big Dragon Ball fan and refused to do the role unless Piccolo was green.

Other than that, it's a steaming pile of shit that deserves to be forgotten.

I would not care about adding anything to it. It would still rape more childhoods than anything in existence.

Unlike Evolution, that movie actually respects the source material. I'd recommend watching that over Evolution any day.

There is only one permissable question about the Dragon Ball film, and that is "why did such an abomination come to pass?"

Personally I found the point of no return to be when Master Roshi calls the use of Ki 'Airbending'. At that point, there was no hope to redeem this steaming turd of a movie. The worst part really was that the fighting was total shit. Most martial arts movies can survive crap plot and bad acting by virtue of their fight scenes being interesting to watch and fun. Dragonball Evolution (and Tekken years later) were not in any way fun.

Also, someone on the team confused Goku with Gohan. I never knew Goku suffered unbearable shyness around girls or let the school bullies get away with.....wait, that's because he didn't and he wouldn't.

Actually, what would have improved this somehow would have been embracing the obvious camp of the whole thing and having the anthromorphic animal characters as well.

What most people seem to forget is that this really wasn't based on DBZ, but instead Dragonball. Yeah it wasn't even close to the original in any way, but what they were trying to do was make this movie stand out from the rest of the DragonBall series. Could it have been better? Hell yes, but without doing an entire dragonball/dragonball Z saga it wouldn't be too great, and everyone will still complain.

I think that it would have been a better movie if they didn't focus too much on the supernatural type of fighting they had, but have martial arts take center stage in the fighting scenes. I would've like it as well if this featured the real tournament where Piccolo Sr was killed by Goku, and out pops the eggs containing Piccolo Jr and his brothers. This way if it was a decent enough movie then they could've made a sequel where Goku and his friends need to stop Piccolo Jr and his family.

I know that they based it off of the original but if they really wanted it to be based on Dragon Ball, they should of gone with a child actor for Goku.

No because Piccolo and the guy playing him were the only good parts of that shitfest.
