Hello Transfans, i watched DBE about 10 minutes ago. I am VERY sad to say that...I didn't mind it! Alot of people have hated on the flick and I'll admit it, it wasn't a great tribute (I stress the word great) however I feel it did enough to not disappoint me. It's not like I don't know dragonball (Z), as those two shows all of transformers, GI Joe and Power Rangers (with alot of Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon) were what made me the young man I am today. Although I'm not a wiz with DB(Z) like I am with transformers, and for the most part GI Joe, but I consider my self well educated on it. So back on track >.< The movie wasn't the best and it had its fair share of holes, but honestly it was an ENTERTAINING movie for me. The Oozaru was decently portrayed, at least to what you can expect, and Piccolo at least had a cool...voice I'm glad they at least did fine with Goku's story. So yeah, there's my two cents, if you're going to get hostile, don't bother commenting thanx.
I'd rather be beaten with a metal bat while watching loved ones get sodomized by diseased horses than watch that pile of crap again.
The concept of Dragonball works as a kids cartoon, not as a movie. DBZ would be cool as a movie, but they'd have to get a way bigger budget and a real script for it to work for an adult audience.
It obviously could have been a WHOLE LOT better, but I didn't mind it. i won't buy it, but didn't mind it.
I think this Goku was a combination of both Goku and Gohan combined. I did like that there was some kind of relationship with his grandpa. I don't think they show him that much in the cartoons so it was nice to see that. Was surprised to see Master Roshi as perverted as he was. I didn't think Chow Yun Fat would do it. Chi Chi was kind of cute and Bulma too so all of these made it ok for me. Picolo seemed to be no real threat and the final battle was lame.
since we are talking about Dragonball Evolution... i figured i would post the link to a hilarious Review of Dragonball Evolution featuring people from Thatguywiththeglasses.com Dragonball Evolution: The Epic Review Many of the team at TGWTG are roped into reviewing Dragonball Evolution and weep at its horribleness. Last week right before I was going to sleep, I caught the last 10 minutes of it(somewhere in the midpoint to the final fight of Goku and Piccalo). I feeling I had from it was...very painfully undescribable. To be perfectly honest about even the idea of watching the rest of the movie...I'll take this quote \/ I'm afraid if I ever watch it from start to finish, that there is a good chance that the child in me will die a horrible death and take Transformers, Star Wars and all the other fun stuff in my life with me.
I'm glad so many of you enjoy my quote... however, in the arsenal of movie bombs such as Howard the Duck, Dark Water, Batman and Robin, and Battlefield Earth, Dragonball: Evolution would be something banned by most global treaties. Now, let's weaponize these movies. We'd get the likes of bunker busters, daisy cutters, and something in the range of atomic weaponry. Then we get Dragonball... this is how zombie apocalypses are started. I'd go into more detail, but I fear the full details would be far too horrible to comprehend.
Now now, Howard the Duck was great! Ok, well, it was definately better than most of the movies you listed, especially, DBE.
