Did a search and didn't see anything on the sequel.

If anyone is on the fence about preordering this game, if you do so before Jan11th (tomorrow), you can get the special edition of the game for the price of the standard (as I understand it). Not only does it come with goodies (like the soundtrack), but it also comes with the first DLC, which is a sidequest that comes packed with a new usable character.

Looking forward to the Mass Effect formula on this game, what with having a male or female character that carries his or her own voice.

Hehehe, well yeah. There were like three Star Wars Battlefront/Battleground threads posted within an hour of eachother. I didn't want my lil' ol' Dragon Age 2 thread to be a duplicate.

Haha, you're good, it was talked about a little in the first game's thread but I think it's time we have a thread dedicated to the sequel.

What I'm looking forward to the most is the unreliable narrators. The example I read of the initial battle sounds pretty cool - your narrator first makes you out as some kind of force of nature, destroying dozens of guys with a swipe of your sword. Then the other narrator corrects them and you redo it with fewer guys to fight, but tougher opponents overall.

It's a very unique take - you're basically playing out a linear narrative but unreliable narrators means you have control over your destiny within the narrative. Especially if it is a case of "he went to A then B" but the other says "he went to B then A by way of C".

Sounds very promising and pretty awesome in the concept.

That's fucking awesome. I hadn't read about that.

It's insane that the game is coming in March. It's so soon.

I give Prowl a hard time ever since he usurped my ‘FIRST’ on the Mass Effect 2 thread.

I didn’t know anything about the conflicting narration.
    It sounds odd, but cool.

I did? Maybe it's like this conflicting narrator thing and you usurped my FIRST on Mass Effect 2. Afterall, I sleep with my copies of Mass Effect. :D

    It's okay.
    Search was disabled.
    I forgive you.
It was a long time ago.

Last I checked there wasn't a Mass Effect 3 thread. Go Get Er' Cowboy!

Let's see if we can make Twist mad at us in that new frontier.

I'll be getting this, but not right away.

I'm going to get the Ultimate Edition of Origins (includes all the DLC) and then I'll wait for the Ultimate Edition of Dragon Age 2.

Use one of the lists available online, I thought the achievement was glitched myself until i realized every single playthrough I wasn't going into one of the rooms in the tavern in Red Cliff.

Ah yes, Dragon Age II, aka Dragon Effect.

I'm not happy with their retconning of the Qunari people, but I'm willing to give this a shot.

Seeing how Bioware likes to shell out dlcs after the game comes out and I don't have a good online setup (I have satellite and still they restrict me on how much usage I use...) I'll just wait until they make a ultimate or a GotY version with all of the dlcs. It pains me to have to wait but what can you do?

I'm new to gaming, only had a PS3 since WFC came out. I love role playing games. Tried Obilvion but it wasn't quite for me, after which someone recommended Dragon Age Origins and I've been addicted since. Can't wait for DA 2, will definately be playing as female Hawke. But while I wait I've decided to jump on the Mass Effect 2 bandwagon, someone help me, I think I've created a monster for myself. ;-)

Well, I was dissapointed with the first one. It had some meat on its bones but wasn't great enough for me to go back and play through it multiple times or to pick it back up for the larger expansions. I had my hopes set pretty high, though, thanks to its pedigree. Still, it was worth playing overall and I did preorder the second one in time. Hopefully the additions will help it come closer to the quality of Mass Effect.

EDIT: I also got a headache and eventually became almost comatose, where apparently all I could mutter was "wynn, please stop running to the dragons mouth. Wynn stop. Please stop getting eaten Wynn." No matter what I did to her commands or the AI system, she just couldn't stay away from a dragon's mouth when I fought the larger dragon enemies. All I wanted her to do was stay far away and heal.

Unfortunately with DA, despite having a workable AI system, you really have to micromanage each and every character in your party at any difficulty level above Easy.

Hopefully I won't have to deal with that anymore in DA2's promised action oriented gameplay.

Damn right I instantly pre-ordered the sequel to the best game of 2009. I loved Dragon Age: Origins.

Not overly sure what to expect considering the changes but if the fun remains then it's all good.
