I'm a huge fan of anything Castlevania, but I've had a good fill of this game with the PSP version recently. Then again, i would still love to play it on an actual television.

I sorta hope not, as it'd ruin the uniqueness of the PSP. Ah well, whatever lets more people play it, I suppose.

    1) The 2.5-D remake will still be unique to the PSP.
    2) It is really sad to need a port for its "uniqueness"

I haven't even turned the Wii in over a month, but if this comes to the US I'm sure the Wii will get more attention. (wow that sounds dirty)

Yesterday, I finally downloaded Super Castlevania. If I end up enjoying that game as much as I did the DS games, then I'll get Rondo of Blood when it comes out.

Dracula X is far better that Super Castlevania IV. If you enjoy Castlevania games period, you'd enjoy Drac X.

Sorry to be picking on you, but I've never understood this line of thinking.
It's like when Lost Planet was announced for the PS3 and a lot of 360 fanbois were saying "this should have stayed on the 360."

Why? How does a game getting ported to another system ruin your copy of it?

The difference between what he said and what you said is the PSP version is not a direct port...and maybe cause if it does come to the VC, it'll be the better (original) version...

I thought the PSP version included a direct port version, along with the 3D remake and SotN?

It does, although you have to play a certain amount of the remake to unlock the original version.

I personally feel it's better then Dracula X. I agree with you that if you like Castlevania in general, you can't go wrong with DX, but C4 is probably my favorite behind SOTN.

Not really. As it was never released outside of Japan (the crap we got here was so torn up, to call it a port is... misleading), I don't consider it a port for the U.S. It's like when FF III came out for the DS. It was a remake/port, but it was the first time it came out here, so I considered it unique. As for ports being a bad thing, of the 3 out of the 6 DS games that I own are ports, and 12 out of the 15 GBA games I own are ports. Just because a game is rereleased for the PSP/DS/GBA doesn't make it a bad game or a bad system.

Not at all, which is why I said "whatever lets more people play it" afterwards.

Who said ports were a bad thing? And I consider an enhanced remake a totally different thing than a port. The PSP release of Rondo of Blood happens to have both. Anyway, what I'm saying is that if someone is going to get attached to exclusivity for a system, it should be for a game that was designed from the ground up for that system, not some other system's exclusive title from a previous generation.

When you come back, you come back with full force. But I agree with what you said. One of the games that I am glad that is being ported to the Wii is Okami. I always thought that the game would work perfectly with the Wiimote, and even the DS stylis.

Thinking that a third-party game should remain on one system is fanboyish. I'm glad to be a gaming slut and own most of the systems, but we are reaching a point where the first-party games are selling the systems and the third party games are being spread across them for both the benefit of the developers (more games sold) and benefit of the gamers.

    Exactly.
