Generally speaking, WST is downsized G1 toy molds right down to G1 articulation, which this resembles to me. Legends are generally G1 in flavor but features new/updated molds and articulation (Legends RTS Megatron is not the same as WST Megatron, for example).

That and WST are generally smaller than Legends figures (3P WST Shockwave is smaller than Legends Bumblebee, for example; WST Dinobots are similar in size to Legends mostly because the Dinobots should be taller than most other WST's as per the show's scale). FP's Quake would be a Legends-esque figure to me because he features updated design and articulation that's different from WST Shockwave (who is based on G1 Shockwave).

That's just my take on it that distinguishes the two lines. YMMV.

This is awesome. I'm going to get him for Toyworld's Brainstorm, and he can be his cuddle toy/voodoo doll!

Did you notice the ball joints and that Dr. Wu displays it with Legends Optimus Prime? This has tons more articulation that G1 Perceptor.

Legends started out in Legends of Cybertron, which were not G1 at all, and were just downsized versions of the Cybertron transformations, not updated alt modes. Same with Movie Legends, Prime Legends, Animated Legends.

I did say, "generally speaking." Slavishly G1 in design mostly makes me think of WST. If the Legends or Cyberverse line offered a version of Perceptor, I wouldn't be surprised if he turned into a half-track truck instead of a microscope. 3Ps kinda throw a monkey wrench into the black-and-white definitions that separate Legends and WST. This Dr. Wu not-Perceptor is still smaller than Legends though, further muddling things. I dunno about you, but Legends Bumblebee shouldn't be bigger than a straight-up Legends Perceptor, in my view. Or are you saying WST Megatron is the same as Legends RTS Megatron?

    As always, YMMV.

    It was a missile launcher.

Legends Bumblebee was taller than it. It was one of the largest first Legends figures.

Perceptor was portrayed as Mini-Bot size or smaller in his original commercial.

All the more reason for the distinctions then. WST =/= Legends, at least to me. You can call this Dr. Wu version of not-Perceptor whatever you want though since it's 3P and therefore unofficial. As always, people buy and display however they wish.

Okay, I'll give on the WST thing. I was just translating some of Dr. Wu's Chinese posts on his site talking about this toy. He called it (according to Google Translate) "Very Small Sensor". I'm thinking that's a Google translation of "Smallest Perceptor"

Other people have requested he make it a Legends toy.

One has to wonder why he'd even bother with such a small scaled figure. Cool as it may be, and as hard is it may have been to design, are folks really going to be willing to spend $10 or more on something like this?

I think I'd have a tough time pulling the trigger at $10 myself, and I sort of want one. $10 is probably wishful thinking though.

Those are after market prices though. They originally sold in a case of 12 for 380 yen a piece.

If people are willing to pay 6 or 7 times the original price though, wow!
