As I thought (and then confirmed at NYCC) the legs look much better in person or in good pics than they do in the official pics. They still don't look very good (like he should be walking on his knuckles), but much better than everyone thought at first. I'll definitely be getting this, and maybe painting him (a lot). Dunno if I need the deluxe. Laserbeak is so awesome looking, and his gimmick seems like it will be cool.
This is the best image I have seen so far. I liked ROTF Soundwave's gorilla like proportion, and in this image he looks well-balanced to me. and I quite like HA Sideswipe. I am repeating myself but it's just lack of appealing colour that's bugging me. I know it's not HasTak's fault, the rise of the overall cost to produce toys must be pretty bad. I'll get used to it. Also, Masabon said the parts get in the way of each other when transforming, so it might be better than having paint chips. < Positive thinking (now that I've paid for it ) 写真有難うございました。 おかげさまで期待度アップです。
I love this version of Soundwave. His ugliness and weird proportions fit my impression of what an alien robot should be. Just wish it had some silver paint......
Actually, Masabon confirmed that is mouth does open and close, just like Human Alliance Barricade. See page 2.
Skinny Legs and all the mass in the torso worked fine with HA Icepick, but with Soundwave it's not working at all - I suspect it's partly down to the need for the HA gimic and partly just bad design. It's silly really as if he was a decent mould there's a ready market for at least 2 repaints of him a Blue one and a Black one... they could still do so but i'd not be very excited by them doing it... It would be basically me hoping they included a different human or called the Laserbeak Repaint Buzzsaw. I doubt it will be released in the UK anyway. unless ARGOS loose their exclusivity on DOTM HA toys and TRU get them in 2012
I've always thought that hasbro releases the toys/certain characters first before takara release that certain character. Hasbro's release of Human Alliance Soundwave hopefully is just around the corner.
Somewhat disappointed with the lack of paint and the overload of back kibble. Gonna airbrush this sucker's alt mode metallic silver and try to see if some of that car kibble can't be partsformed onto his legs to beef them up a bit. You disappoint me, HasTak.
I'm confused! In the past the Takara versions of the tf toys released here have usually been better than the US ones (more detail, better paint jobs, chrome, etc.) as such I'm totally surprised and disappointed by this. I mean I had been holding out on buying any HA figures because I assumed that the TakTomy ones were going to be better.
Man, I must have weird taste in toys lol. Everyone hates this thing to death but I personally love it and can't wait till Christmas for it.
