    I think they just use aliens because then they can whip out some kind of crazy awesome looking technology that no society on Earth could have access to. Like those flying, spinning ball things that wrecked cities or something.

    Like I said, it's just trying to cash in on the popularity of the Transformer movies with the super-realistic looking CGI. If you want to see a movie based off of a board game that doesn't suck, go watch the old Clue movie. THAT is how you make a board game movie.

    Those spinning balls must have cost a fortune as it took $209 Million to make Battleship. DOTM cost $194 Million. Suddenly driller didn't seem that bad.
