DotM Voyager Ratchet - "You May Require a Medic."

***NEW PHOTOS added to this post on 3/6/14 (old photos removed)

As with the previous ones, he is fully transformable.
All paints are from testors, the green is a custom mixture, dry brushed the metal bits, used Reprolabels for the stickers.
This custom figure was auctioned on Ebay once before, but remains in my collection still.
So I figured, might as well keep modifying him while he is in my possession!

18 modifications! Features include (Most of these items are linked to the page or post detailing the modification!):

    1. ball jointed head (first photo in this post)

    2. improved articulation for hands (2 photos of that in here)

    3. new shoulder joints (parts from HftD dlx Ratchet) allowing for greater range of movement

    4. new fender joints allowing proper positioning and angulation

    5. swivel/telescopic front end to serve bot alt and bot modes (photos from version 1, modification remains the same through version 7)

    6. front wheels swing back with undercarriage cover (no more blind spots for him!) (photos from version 6)

    7. flood lights added inside the shoulders (seen in this post.)

    8. reshaped the lower legs for more accurate and slimmer look

    9. rear bumper plus scratch build rear window end now relocates to his back during transformation (reference this whole page number...)

    10. roll cage integrated into shoulders and back

    11. blaster flips in and out of right forearm

    12. flip out saw blade for left forearm

    13. increased knee articulation for more dynamic poses

    14. Light bar stands faced forward behind head

    15. Rear tires drop inside his hips increasing leg movement and slims up his profile

    16. Front bumper now folds down in front of his abdomen

    17. Gems added to headlights, fog lights, underneath light bar (seen in this post)

    18. new transformation sequence

    19. Added additional thumbs to both hands - right hand and left hand

Thanks man, i racked my brain coming up with better ways to improve on this guy. Today i completed the hinges that allows both fenders to swing out and angle from the alt mode.

On to add his blaster and flip out saw blade into his arms!

    Thank you my friend
No, and even though he needs it, the voyager figure is what i connect with for the mods.
I think by week's end I should complete the mods to his hands and forearms with the weapons, then begin the paint job! Should be my finest Ratchet yet, fingers crossed!

This looks awesome! Glad to see Voyager Ratchet getting some love. At it's core, it's a good figure.

This is the best mod yet to date. You out did yourself yet again. I love the new leg mods you did. It opens up the leg and makes it less bulky with those selected shapes you cut out, just brilliant.

You need to have Peaugh do a video review of this figure when its all done.

Also, you should think about making a mold and cast the hinges and ball joints you used along with other parts as a mod kit.

Great work! Could you post some side pics when you get a chance? I might have to re-visit my Ratchet that I performed some of your mods on already...

    Awesome work !

Personally, I'd keep the fenders down in robot mode ; especially with those red-painted
"lights" close to the blue & white, the colours become a bit much.

Nice! I started a project like this to make the 2007 Voyager a bit skinnier, but it's temporarily scrapped.

Thank you as well, very kind words!

Thanks for those extra pics! Could we see some alt mode pics, especially from above? That will probably determine for me whether I want to do those leg mods...

Thanks! I see you completely removed the back windows. I wonder if you could attach those to the rear bumper parts on a hinge. Then they could fold up and be on the back of the legs for robot mode and still be on vehicle mode...

It is certainly a possibility. I have another idea to completely remove the backend off his legs, and possibly add the back windows onto the rear bumper. A very big potential...

However, i am not overly concerned about the completeness of the alt mode more so than having a kick ass accurate as possible bot mode.
