I'm gonna be saving a ton of money on the next movie toys.

The robot modes don't look so good and the vehicle modes have all that mech tech crap hanging off them.

I get the feeling that's what all the mechtech weapons do.

    He actually looks cool there.

I think the idea is that they transform from small weapons into BFGs.

Also, you know what I don't see there? A trailer! Unless Hasbro is counting the gun as a trailer...or if the trailer is coming as an optional combo pack, boxed separately but attached to Prime. Doubtful though.

I'm not too fond of the toy designs so far. I'm sure that they will all look great on screen, but as toys... not so much. :(

Have to agree with Smasher here, until I see these figures in person it looks like I'll be skipping the DOTM lineup. What's up with this mechtech stuff?! looks horribly.

I must say, I am relieved to see it doesn't come with his trailer. Now I don't have to purchase it.

Not really digging the new stuff. Feels like they went steps back to save money..cause they now we will buy it anyway..but not this cat..at full price anyway. All I can think of is oversize McDonald toys..lol Megs does have a cool dark anime feel to him which is kinda cool and refreshing..but still kinda weak on the paint apps and detail. Ill have to wait till I see them in hand. and with the Canadian and the States money not to far away from each other..A Hasbro better not charge 10-20 bucks more for a leader and crazy differences like that. People are worried about the economy but then Hasbro decides to take this route..(the design and the ugly weapon idea)..I thought they want to make money...? Looks like a Classics/Universe/Gen/RtS..Catch up this year and of course 3rd party stuff..but debts first of course.

Wow, I was really hoping to like the figures (possibly being the last movie and all). I just can't see myself buying anything I've seen so far except for Megatron. It really does look like Hasbro took a step backwards to save some dough...

I think there will be different types of lines. I'll reserve judgement.

What I want to see is the Prime with trailer. I just want the trailer!

It never was known as Cybertech Prime, was it? That was just people going into denial and labeling it Cybertech, because they were hoping for a better looking voyager.

Yes of course, Hasbro working on an entire new mold definitely is Hasbro trying to save money and knowing we will buy it anyway.
There could be a ton of reasons why this Prime is somewhat 'simpler' than say, the HfTD Battle Blades Prime. One such reason could be that the current TF toys are becoming too hard to transform for the target audience: the kids. But we just don't know right now - and we've yet to see all the other toys.

If Hasbro really wanted to save money because we buy it all anyway, they would release HftD Prime again, with some mods.

I really doubt it has anything to do with that, especially since we're seeing new molds for characters who aren't changing bodies for the third movie (Skids, Jolt, Ironhide, etc.).

Part of it is Mechtech, but I would imagine the main reason Prime looks more simplified is because of this:

TFviews News » Hasbro Answers to TFviews Questions #13

A lot of the RotF molds were TOUGH to transform for kids, dude.

Like WFC Prime's weapon? Nothing new here.

Also, I don't know where people have gotten the idea this toy had a simplified transformation. I've seen it and it's certainly as involved as the transformation for Movie 1 Voyager Prime.

I agree, I must of spent at least $250 on the ROTF toyline and about $$150 on the first movie toyline, amount spent on the DOTM toyline $0 :lol

If this is what the voyage Prime looks like, i'm scared to know what the leader class will look like:cry
Please Hasbro don't let us down now

Looks like I'll be saving my money for something else. So far DOTM toys are an easy pass for me. Might get Megatron, but that's about it.

I do agree that recent TFs are too difficult for kids.

I'm still holding on to hope that I'll like 'em better in hand.
