    ***UPDATE ON PAGE 2!***

I got the Voyager DOTM Megatron and I think I am one of the few people who actually like this toy but I thought he needed something. That something was a better Fusion cannon. I am currently working on an add on tip to his mech tech weapon. The rings and front are not permanently on yet so they may get changed and it will be painted of course.

As allways any comments or criticisms welcomed.

    Thank you!

Well I finally had some time to work on this a little. I have added locking guides to plug onto the mech tech gun better.

I also took a few pics with the mech tech portion out, it actually looks pretty cool like this. The rings are still not on permanently yet because I have not decided on the positions. As well as the site, how should it be positioned if on it at all.

I'm on the fence. I like it for what it is. but it's honestly not very movie-esc.

It's a bit too simplified to me in that regard.

But again, it is nice for what it is.

^ I agree. It's very well built, but perhaps some extra detail? Like vents or extra plating running down the sides?

make the sight a bit smaller and longer, so the long side is attached to the barrel and the short end is what sticks up. it will look less cartooney and more agressive.

add some rectangles and panels to look like tech details. maybe scribe some panel lines to give it some depth. just dont overdo the details, too much can make it look overwrought.

i do like what you have so far, my big fingers cant work in such a small scale. keep up the good work!

I really like that one as well!

That was a little bit the point, LOL. Overall I hate BAYFORMERS but dig this mold for some odd reason.

Seems like most people think it needs more detail, I will start to think about what kind of detailing i can do without losing too much of the G1 inspiration.

There are few of us out there! :-D

I was really surprised when I found them! I used both 7/16 tube and 1/2 in tube.

I was thinking about making the sight so that it was flat on top. I wonder how it would look if the sight was on the ring and the barrel so that it was on both parts if that makes sense. not a bad idea to have panels instead of rings. I need to order a panel line tool.

I started working on some detailing today. I decided to try and do some vents for the side of the cannon. I am making these not attached and then will attach them to the gun when they are complete. There will be 2 of these one on each side, if I dont go blind first. These are tiny!!

    hi domshen....
i don't know if this will help (maybe the cannon is completed by now, i just got back to reading threads :) ), you can get inspiration from movie bumblebee's and optimus prime's handcannons (for grooves, panels, ridges, etc) and DOTM deluxe bumblebee's mechtech cannon (for some reason, the "switched on" mode can pass off for a fusion cannon)...

I have some more ideas with possibly doing some wires as well, not sure.

Thank you! I am going to go see DOTM tonight so I hope that I get some inspiration!

I finally had some time and did the detailing and the first coat of primer. I find it easy to see defects after a coat of primer. I will go back and do some more clean up.

I am also making a 5mm peg so that the mech tech weapon can go on upside down and be further back on the arm.
