It doesn't bother me on most bots, but if its one that's integrated without cheating, and doesn't look too bad, I would prefer that one. I guess I take it from the perspective of an engineering design.

 

Same for me - I never bought the Voyager Fallen or Longhaul, bc I just wasn't that in love with the characters - but grabbed the Legion/Legend figs almost instantly, as their bot/alt modes were pretty accurate.

With this film, the Legion/Legend figs are really good & the fact that we get sword & shield on the Legion fig, but NOT the Voyager fig is just insulting...

 

Right you are... though studying things a bit closer, I think the actual design cheats in the first place.

As far as I can see, those chest windows don't exactly match any of the truck's real windows.





I'm not okay with cheating. Obviously a certain amount is usually necessary to get the job done, and I can live with that, but I like a design to get as much mileage as possible out of using actual, recognisable vehicle parts in a creative way.

I see that as a greater design challenge, and a greater accomplishment when successful.

I believe the voyager's transformation might actually echo the movie transformation for this reason - thanks for pointing this out!

 

I just saw the 3D Voyager Sentinel animation on Hasbro's website.

It's basically one of those 'fold the vehiclemode into a backpack' transformations, with a pre-sculpted robot figure underneath. Bit of a disappointment there, though at least the botmode does seem to be reasonably well-sculpted and proportioned.

Hardly. All the MechTech accessories are compatible and interchangable. If you got both figures, you'd have Sentinel's complete set of armaments to arm up either figure. It would be rather unexciting for there to be two sets of nearly identical sword and shield floating around, one slightly smaller.

I mean, if you don't like that, that's entirely fair (who wants to buy two SPs if you're only going to display one?) but the fact of the matter is, that's just how this line works. I think it's nice for SOMETHING to distinguish the figures other than size and engineering.

If you like the Cyberverse Commander, get the Cyberverse Commander. If you don't like the Voyager, don't get the Voyager. But for christ's sake, no one is "insulting" anyone.

 

That's fair - just upsets me that this is the 3rd Voyager I've wanted for a movie (the other 2 being ROTF Megatron & TFTM Megatron) that's essentially a shellformer with a robot tucked underneath, the weapons just helped me pick the CV mold over the Voyager.

Wasn't trying to be hateful, just the end of a very trying night at work...

Leader Sentinel is great. But, he desn't fit in scale with Megatron very well, or Optimus. So I guess I'm going to get the Voyager for scale's sake.
