I do not know why people hate the original Tomahawk head and are going gaga over this remold. Tomahawk has one of my favorite heads ever. This just looks...meh in comparison.
Both Tomahawk and Vortex look cool IMO. Just wish I could get my hands on Vortex w/out the $40+ tag... =.
Still hate the feet but this remold looks much better then that original Go-bot reject mold. If this come to the US I may buy it as cannon fodder. But if not...who cares.
I've always had mixed feelings about this mold. Above the waist, it's a solid Neo-Classics style figure, but below the waist it's Movie aesthetic. So confused.
I know exactly what you mean. I usually mod the transformation a little on my Tomahawk's feet and legs so that it looks a little more G1-ish. I fold the feet up in the front to fill in the lower leg and move the landing gear to the front to use as feet if you can picture that. If I had Tomahawk near me right now, I would take a pic for you. The feet look small, but I still like the way it looks better than the chicken feet.
Um, I don't know "why" but Tomahawk looks like a Lego man to me. Or the kid with the helmet from the Clerks TV series. I'm all over Vortex though.
God damn you now I can't unsee the Lego pilot head Heheh oh well.. He's still cool and I prefer Tomahawk's color scheme.
DOTM Vortex is a great figure. I picked it up yesterday. It is far better than Tomahawk. A pity that it won't see a wider release.
Looks gorgeous, I orderd mine yesterday. Finally 'henkei' Onslaught wont be feeling so lonely anymore. I also have a Tomahawk but still wouldn't mind a Spinister repaint of this mold.
