At long last i got this beast!

When i read on the forums that a new Oversized Leader Prime was sighted, i knew i had to get one! a day later chimunmung got some in stock so i placed an order (days later he increased the price...)

    http://chimungmung.com/product_info.php?products_id=396&osCsid=5f7047bac16e5d016da128d57e34f4be

So was worth it? Lets see...

As usual, chimunmung shipped the figure loose in a custom box, cut to size but wrapped in bubble plastic, transformed in truck mode to prevent shipping damage. Among other things, the figure includes an oversized DOTM supreme cannon and crotch armor, not pictured though

I quickly transformed the figure with extreme care, plastic quality is not as good as official figures, you can feel the hollowness on everything, while is sturdy, you need to handle it with extremely care to avoid breakage

    Robot Mode

Ah the size, its just lovely! As you can see on the following pic, he looks excelent with the Human Alliance figures! Leader Ironhide is a bit small to be in proportion to him and Ratchet... well seriously we need a new Ratchet

But how good are the proportions according to the official scale chart?

Ironhide height matches Prime Abdomen and Bumblebee barely touches his crotch, so by looking at the lines, HA BB is slightly smaller and leader Ironhide should be bigger to scale everything perfectly.

More comparisons? Well, he is really big

And even more figures to compare, and of course a ruler!

The molding is excelent, thereĀ“s really no detail loss at all! although some changes were made, mainly:

    1) No knee joint nor articulation, most likely for stability reasons, but its a shame
    2) The rear wheel covers are one piece
    3) The Wheels on the thighs do not collapse.
    4) The smoke stacks have no joints at all to fold below the fuel tanks
    5) The door windows do not fold over the wind shields in robot mode, they are molded as a single clear piece for each wind shield

Paint is top notch, no bleeding, all the flames look like the real deal. It seems its based on the Battle Hooks repaint, although no black paint in the face and he got his swords molded in a translucent orange (or just like the original). Also they arent spring loaded

The head got electronics, eyes glow and a soundbox, with a new button on the back, from memory you can hear guns, lasers, punches, swords, and someone saying "Finger go!!!" (At first i though it said Rangers, but it really sounds like Finger)

    Vehicle Mode

When i tried to transform him to truck mode, i was scared to break it, so i decided to stop trying, so in the following pics thats the cause for all the gaps. The figure can be transformed just fine, just be extremely careful!

Size again is brutal! even for poor Sam, although he doesnt look that bad inside the cab...

The smokestacks are molded in a very flexible plastic, like rubber, very flimsly

All the lights are molded in clear plastic

Other than that, some minor nitpickings are little changes in details, for example molded rivets were moved, the whole sleeper door was relocated, no Autobot logos at all

    Final thoughts

Was it worth it? For novelty purpouses and just make a kickass display, yeah (either by leaving the figure as is or making a full repaint/kitbash). Furthermore, i got it for $55 plus $24 for shipping, right now the price is more like $70 plus $30 for mailing it, definitaly not worth that price!

Plastic quality is decent for handling, but i wouldnt recommend several transformations, just by transforming him into robot mode after the last pic i took, one of the shoulder hinges started to crack :(

Im gonna repaint mine just like my ROTF leader, and i "might" fix some of the missing stuff, although im not sure to fix the knees... just want to avoid future headaches

That thing is amazing! For a bootleg, it looks nice. I hope it starts popping up in U.S. China Towns for less, or something like that. The only place around here I know of with bootlegs is in a crummy Farmers Market and their bootlegs are the price of the real toys at retail! $70+ is a bit much for something that could break, but he'd be a customizer's dream. Unfortunately, you may have to use some large and expensive toys to cannibalize for joints and upgrades.

Easily one of the most impressive KO's ever. The only thing I would want to see more is an upscaled Titanium Ultra Magnus to Voyager or Ultra Class.

A HA scale Optimus Prime, very tempting!!! I don't think I want to drop $100 on him, though, since he's too fragile to transform much. If I did get him, I'd have to work on those knees...

It is really close but 3 3/4" is still a little too big for it.
