Is it just me or do the DOTM Toys seem less detailed, more scoped out for much younger kids, and way to gimmicky featuring weapons almost as big as the alt modes?

I feel that the toys we're seeing now are suffering for a gimmick that wasn't fully fleshed out when they were desgined and maybe in later waves it'll improve

I think it's still too early to tell.

all i can say is so far what we have seen looks like ASS...

megatron sporting a fugly batman /grim reaper cape hanging off his shoulder/arm does not do it for me....

Shadow command megatron to me so far is the best movie leader toy made...

and I am not getting any transformers 3 movie toys...just tired of the wierd bay bug spindly designs....

Yes, because it's totally logical to form opinions on toys for children that we've seen very few pictures of and are mostly still in the prototype stage.
Honestly though, I think that the accurate toys we've been getting have just spoiled us, that's all. Plus, if they actually WERE a step backwards, it wouldn't surprise me since ROTF gave us transformers that probably were too hard for a lot of the target audience to transform.

Waiting to see them in person. So far voyager Prime and leader BB are the only ones that look like crap though. Megs looks pretty cool to me.

Are we gonna have to keep saying "Wait for better pics and in-hand reviews" or "It's too early to tell" every other day now?

It's like a "DotM toys look disappointing" thread pops up a mile a minute.

Are we gonna have to include the DotM toys on the "RUINED FOREVER" article on Teletraan I?

So far I'm not too optimistic on these new movie figures, but I'll hold my final judgement until I can actually see them for myself.

Humor me, were threads like this as common back when ROTF toys were leaked?
There's absolutely no logic in judging a whole toyline by 3 toys.

Yes. Doom and gloomers are rampant before the release of every new line.

this thread's title makes my head hurt. a lot.

the toys though, I don't know. Megatron seems to integrate fairly well with his artillery. BB, Prime, Ironhide though it's clearly just add on/toss on top. To be realistic though, Ironhide had some huge cannons in the first movie, no one else really on the autobot side.

I for one don't. Frankly, I'll be getting that Voyager Megatron from the line and any of those awesome-looking HA small figures because they actually look like good toys and Megatron especially looks decent for once as a toy.

EVERY new series gets included on that article, although I think the movie series is already up there.

Yeah, the toys were are seeing a either actual production items or test samples - it's pretty much unheard of for anything to change between these and what you'll buy on the shelf at Walmart. Even if something is changed it'll be extremely small.

But good work, keep up the Hasbro apologetics. Now I gotta go run to buy a TRANSFORMERS™ branded turd for $50.

Oh look this thread again. That wasn't even two days guys. We really need to keep the DOTM toy discussion in one big thread.

the toys are a bunch of grainy pictures right now (we just got a list of what will be released) and we already have the end of Western Civilization as we know it.

tell ya what. go buy a lot of broken Rock Lords off eBay, and write "DotM" on each one and then come back and gripe.

until we get hands on reviews and a consensus that the product line is complete garbage, i am holding off my opinions.
    i'd rather remain optimistic.

a "step back" with these toys would be if they used Unicron Trilogy designs.

DOTM toys a step backwards? Too soon to tell.

Transformers fans taking a step backward? Hard to say; are we always acting this way, like spoiled brats?
