Seemed like before TakaraTomy always had the better quality figures, but I haven't seen any deco differences in DOTM (yes, I know about Tak exclusives.)

Are there any differences between the toys, or is it just price and a japanese sticker so far?

I've heard that Tak are more stringent with their QC, but don't really have any data to back that claim up.

with the movie toys, with the exception of a select few figures, like the voyager optimus prime with the trailer, and skywarp, they are generally the same figures as the hasbro ones, hell, they're probably packaged by hasbro, then takara just pastes a sticker over it.

Definitely not. And if they ever were, it was a long time ago.

hasbro and takara both have their equal share in quality control issues, anyways.

Especially since they're manufactured in the same factories.

AFAIK, this time around there are zero differences between the Hasbro and Takara figures (in terms of paint apps). I'm sure someone will prove me wrong but if so, there can't be more than one or two exceptions.

The movie toylines have always started out with pretty much identical toys between Japan and the Western world. It usually wasn't until later in the line that the differences emerged.

it was only figures like Sidearm Sideswipe, that really had any differences in the last line.

one had that red thing printed on the hasbro version that the takara one did not.

heck, the classic rodimus repaint is basically the same as the japanese one, except the japanese one doesn't have the rub symbol, but instead has an extra piece of shi... i mean, galvatron. :lol

If you're talking about the Autobot Alliance line versus Hunt for the Decepticons, then every figure in Autobot Alliance was different then in HftD.

The packaging are nearly identical but there are differences. The Japanese still use plastic twisties instead of the paper kind, and the bubbles are all taped on so you don't have to tear the packaging in order to open it. Also the bubble inserts are different with Japanese text on the bottom. Plus the Japanese instructions and additional bio cards.

One difference that you could note would be HA Leadfoot. Since the international release will have no Target logo on the hood. But the Hasbro US version will hae and be a Target exclusive.

Yes but we don't know what the Japanese one will be like (just in the US and every where else).
