Now that I finally found one, I have some ideas about modding DOTM Powerglide to a more G1/classics form. All the mods seem fairly easy to pull off:

#1 and most important - wings moved to shoulders
    Shorter feet
    Blue all repainted grey
New face (or at least a better mouthplate)

A quick photoshop is attached. What do you think? Any more ideas to make it better?

    Looks like a good idea.

Overall it looks great, but if there were a way to get rid of those tiny feet.

I think shortening them helps, but you have a point - I could cut out some of the casing that they fit into in alt mode and attach it to them. They would be more like his paddle feet then.

Great. Can you make him 3 inches taller now? :)

I'm a little mixed on this, but I think a lot of it is just the source picture you chose to use. For some reason his shoulders look a lot more hunchy now, and his body a bit too short, but that might just be the angle. The new face would be nice, as would the lighter red.

The wings are neat, and I don't think it would be too hard to move them there, but I'm not sure if the effect is actually enough of an improvement to justify the effort. In a way, this new Powerglide features just a minor inversion of the original design, with the wings on the outside of the arms, rather than the inside.

*EDIT* On the question of the feet (which I don't mind so much actually), one option might be to simply add a hinge or joint to each of his tailfins, so that they fold underneath to give him a sort of broad, flat heel. I think it would look a bit better and more solid.

I like all the changes you are planning to make on this. Make it so. And honestly not much more you can really change you hit every nail on the head imo. Love this fig as it is with the exception of his feet.

Funny you say that (about his height) - the source pic was transformed wrong in the waist and I had to chop out a section to make it look right. He IS shorter.

You may be on to something with the fins idea.

His feet don't really bother me too much, nor the rest of him that much to be honest. If you do figure out an easy way to move his wings to how you have them, like in his original figure, and fix the face I would be eagerly waiting to see your results though.

Moved to Creative GD since we're discussing a potential concept here.

    Target.

I've given up on this idea, seeing as how we're getting one or two new 3rd party Powerglides. No point in chopping him up to make him fit in anymore.
