Yeah, cause I just pre-ordered the big lug. $120 from BBTS, which IIRC isn't that much of a markup from the yen price.

I think the yen price was somewhere around 108$.

IIRC, Japanese price is circa $100. If you live in the U.S, by the time you're done with shipping from Asia, you're probably just as well off buying in the U.S.

I'm only 14. So will it come out in the US? Or will it be cheaper?

The only way it will get cheaper is if there is a Hasbro version.

And that's unknown at the moment.

But HIGHLY doubtful that Hasbro will import this over. It can't sell at the Leader price point because of the added bits, so unless they want to put a $60 Prime figure out in a post-movie sub/follow-up line, it ain't happening.

The Jetwing Prime and Striker Prime base robots are essentially Hasbro paint jobs with some minor retooling here and there to accommodate the new accessories, but all paint apps are virtually identical.

The accessories aren't that big and the engineering is a sunk cost already. Plus, the blades were stripped out of the mold. The obstacle is that Hasbro doesn't generally like to re-use Leaders in different lines. They seem to get one repaint a short time later and then they move on. Which I think is a good thing overall for flagship toys...we don't want to see stagnation.

FACT: My Jetwing Prime base robot IS the Hasbro ROTF Leader mold (including paint apps) with some very minor retools to accommodate the jetpack and gatling guns.
