I just bought one, threw away the box and receipt, and then realized it's broken. It's one of the metal screws in the shoulder. Snapped. The one that should control the tightness of the swivel that moves the cockpit. The closest one to the torso. Turned it and turned it trying to tighten that joint, nothing happened. It was broken. There's absolutely nothing you can do here other than trying to cut the post down so you can grab the broken screw with some pliers. Then unscrew it. Problem is, now nothing matches up and the shoulder is compromised. Anybody had a similar issue?
No issues with mine. Since you've already thrown out the box, you could buy another one (assuming you can find another), open that one (make sure it's all good), then put this one into the new box and return it with the new receipt. PS: I find it's a good idea, before I tear anything apart or throw anything out, to TF the figure once back and forth to make sure all is good.
Maybe, except for whoever buys it! I'm pretty good at fixing these things; I managed to get it functional again. I think it'll be fine. But yeah, that'll teach me to hang on to all the stuff until I'm certain it's all correct. Yeesh.
Just remember to tell them (when you take it back) that it's broken. Then they will send it back to the manufacturer.
Ohh. Hahaha that makes sense, guess I'm too used to seeing scams like that in stores. Old toys in new packaging, etc. Well, if I get a chance I might pick a new one up. I'd much prefer he have all his screws, lol. Thanks y'all! Nobody else has seen something like this, huh? I thought maybe it was something to do with stresses in the design.
Yup,yup.Hopefully they will send it back to the manufacturer instead of taking the lazy way out and putting it back on the shelf.
Only "problem" with mine was a missing paint app on his face. The blue on most of the lower half of his face is not there and is plain white like his head... BUT I actually think it looks better, so I'm actually glad about that
Do as others have suggested and pick up another and swap it with the broken one and return it. It's slightly morally dubious but technically the end result is the same as if you'd kept the box and receipt and returned it as normal so no universal karma is unbalanced. As long as you buy the replacement to swap from the same store chain of course. Still, hopefully a lesson learnt. Never throw anything away until you've checked the figure over carefully. And even then keep those things for a few weeks in case something breaks soon after and it's still covered for return/exchange.
The one I got has two of the same connector pieces between the engine pods and the forearms as well as two of the same connectors at the shoulder joints, with some cutting I got everything to fit.. basically. One of the panels doesn't line up 100% around the cockpit, but it's not bad enough to worry too much about it.
i got him yesterday and he had some serious stress marks on the wing, and so i left it alone for a day and picked it up and it just fell right off. man, a great figure ruined by crappy plastic and tight joints.
I "accidentally" damaged the propeller on mine when I tried taking it off to transform him. When I returned it the tiny woman at the service counter said that the instructions couldn't be wrong. She ripped the propeller off and realized the instructions were wrong!
