So I got the DOTM Sideswipe. Didn't really wanted it but thought it would be a fun one to paint. I was right. The figure itself is like on oversized legends figure. All of the pics I've seen made this figure look like crap. Other than the cheap paints (or lack of), this is a pretty cool figure.

As for the paint, I did the same thing as my Sidearm Sideswipe. Flat black base coat, dry brushed steel, and then just sprayed the car mode in Krylon silver. Oh! And I covered up the stupid mech tech ports too.

Looks great and you're right, all it needed was a lot of paint. Pity Hasbro left it unpainted.

They are painted. Didn't take pics of the tail.

    Wow, that's awesome!

I seriously wished that Hasbro's DOTM Sideswipe was painted like that. His lack of a paint job seriously turned me off from buying him.

that was a contributing factor, but the real point when i said "nope." was when i saw his chest didn't have tail lights and were just cheated headlights. was kinda miffed at hasbro for giving him such a crummy figure...

    anywho, great work op!
