I just bought Shock Wave and I got to say, he's so much fun to transform. Sure his alt-mode is lame since he doesn't really turn into anything. But the way everything locks in place and his head is place in some kind of cot-pit for his alt mode. The other cool thing I like is how the wheels of his alt-mode look like rotor generators for his gun arm in bot-mode. The designers of Shock Wwave could of slacked off on his transformation, but you can see they cared. The locking of the pegs and how everything connects really won me over.

The ONLY issue I have with him is that he has the dreaded curling iron arms.

It's definitely a lot better then I thought it would be, especially if you take his weapons off. Bonus points for it actually LOOKING like something too, thanks to all the mechanical details and panels that are scattered over his form, with the only really random, alien bits being the prongs and 'training wheels'. Everything pegs together nicely too, especially one you realize that there's a slot for the tabs on his arms, allowing them to press down nice and flush.

Wonder how accurate it is to his vehicle mode in the movie though, if he even has one!

Yeah, I honestly think the fact that he has curling iron arms is the one thing that I don't like about him. I still haven't bought him though, I haven't been to the store yet. I can't wait till my sister gets her license and she becomes my chauffeur.

Sorry, when did this get personal? :p

I actually like the alt mode for Shockwave. But a fun figure all around.

What is with people and thinking Shockwave doesn't have an Alt mode in the movie?

Megatron had one in both bodies. Why wouldn't Shockwave?

I think every TF that appears in the movies does transform on screen.

Yes, seeing as it's called "Transformers" not "Robots". And the movie "Robots" sucked anyways.

I actually prefer his alt mode over his bot mode. His alt mode makes me think of a Batmobile every time I see it and his bot mode is just "eh." His arms don't have that great of a range of movement as they can't go down too much, I don't care for the angle his legs stand at, and he's a little flat. I do LOVE the light piping on the head though. It makes him seem more sinister even when just standing there. I wish they put ball jointed hands in though, that would greatly improve the figure.

I took him out of the box and planned on transforming him. Then after looking at the picture of his alt mode on the back of the box,I figured why even bother, and just put him on the shelf.I love his bot mode though.

I'll get around to it at some point. As of right now I've had him for 2 weeks and still haven't transformed him yet.

And that bugbot that HFTD Insecticon was based on, if I recall now.

I only saw Revenge of the Fallen once, I'm fuzzy on these kinds of details.

Found my first Shockwave in person at K-Mart earlier today. I was pretty impressed, almost picked it up. I think I'll wait until Botcon first, in case they reveal a leader class or a repaint of the Voyager I like more.

Question: I have this guy and he's awesome in both modes, but I was wondering if there was a way to make his gun arm raise higher than it does? I have seen pics of him with his arm completely raised WITH the hose plugged in. Maybe I'm putting it in the wrong hole. Where do you guys connect the hose?

Me too. Heck if anything, it's always reminded me of the Tumbler, in that it's a new age battle machine that's simply there for getting the job done.

Actually, you never technically see Skids and Mudflap, Jolt, or any of the Constructicons besides Demolishor transform on screen either.

Anyway, I was skeptical about Shocky, but after having him in hand, and transforming him several times, I'm really impressed. He locks together really solid in vehicle mode. Also like the fact that you can lock his MechTech weapon in place. Pretty bitchin'.

I can totally Shock Wave's alt-mode pass as a Batmobile.

Shockwave's alt mode is definitely underrated. I like it a lot, since I've got him I've spent a fair bit of time transforming him back and forth. It's very sturdy, pretty much everything clicks together and to me at least, I get the feeling of a futuristic cybertronian battle wagon or something like that which is cool. Probably the best cybertronian alt mode out of the movie figs IMO.
