Wow, is everyone getting a 'warping' deco now? Also, that Sideswipe has a roof!

Yeah, it's a redeco of ROTF Sideswipe, the 2009 mold that had a lot of difficulty standing due to his lack of feet.

And that wasn't even his biggest problem - half of his car mode hangs off his back in robot mode. :(  I love corvettes, but I hate that design.

Ironhide's a must and that Sideswipe has nice flake in it's paint/plastic.

I actually never found it to be a problem.

Although the real question is, how come these guys get gorgeous, detailed paint jobs, but the main release of these characters get shafted? Especially in the case of Sideswipe, whose 'primary' figure has almost no paint apps at all.

Because they're essentially recycling existing toolings, the start up costs are significantly lower per unit, so a portion of the money saved can be invested back into the deco. I believe that is what Hasbro has said on occasion in that regard. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken.

Oh, now that i'm aware these are TRU only: You can probably look forward to the price being padded a little.

... might be fun to line up these figures in vehicle mode like they're passing through some sort of portal or spacebridge. It might look good if they were lined up so the transition between the painted vehicle front and transparent rear was at the same point.

Other than that, I'm not really interested in them.

These are honestly really really cool. In alt mode at least. The effect doesn't really carry over to bot mode well at all.

This is probably true, but in my opinion, if they start the deco plain and then work up to really cool then the enthusiasts are more likely to continue to buy duplicate figures. I wonder which sells better for Hasbro 6 months after the first release, a repaint into a different character or a cool looking "upgrade" of the original character?
