So i was thinking...where/what will optimus's trailer go/do when optimus isn't using it?? I mean surely he wont always be combined with it during the movie

    Will it disappear?
    Will it just sit there?
Will it turn into a repair thing like g1?
Or will he always be combined with it?

probably either turns into a battle station when prime transforms, or he only gets it later in the movie when he gets the extra parts and stays combined with it after that.

The movie characters are very insect like, I wonder if those big trailer pieces hanging off his back, are anything like dragonfly wings

    Pul-ease it's nothing like G1's trailer.

For one thing it doesn't disappear into thine air every time he transforms!!1one

I think they were trying to turn it into a movieverse powermaster Prime.

Actually, the way it has that blue portion right behind the cab sticking out reminded me of the 'voice-box' on the G2 release of Optimus that had those little buttons you'd press to hear him speak ("I am Optimus Prime!").
