I have DOTM Deluxe Ratchet and by far the only Ratchet I own. However I consider getting PRID Ratchet. But is it worth as a toy? (Not the character, the toy) If anyone owns both, can you tell me which one is better?

Okay, but what about the figures themselves? Which one got better robot or vehicle forms?

DOTM Ratchet is really good out of the package. He has a nice vehicle mode, quite posable, pretty accurate save a big backpack. PRID looks to be great, too, but the vehicle mode is severely lacking paint and he's not as beefy as he should be.

I hate saying one is "better" than another. It's so subjective.

If you're that curious, buy one and form your own opinion. If you find you don't like Prime Ratchet, I'm sure there will be plenty of people willing to buy it off of you.

i say "better" in this case because I can't put Prime Ratchet down. The toy delivers on entertaining me "better" than the other one.

I'd say many people are blinded over from RID Ratchet's "new figure on the block" status that are overseeing a vehicle mode that is actually a bit worse than the Henkei\Universe Ratchet figure.

I mean, Henkei\Universe had crisscross lines everywhere-RID Ratchet has that butt ugly diagonal line in the middle that's also the part where paint applications simply CEASE TO EXIST, creating a very uneven look.

Any comparison shots between the two? I think RID Ratchet is a bit bigger.

Both are great figures, but to answer your question about the PRID mold:
Ratchet has double jointed elbows, slightly limited ball neck, amazing light piping, a cool auto morph for a dynamic head reveal, his feet are molded to be slightly splayed in a natural stance and looks very accurate in both modes (maybe minus some vehicle mode paint apps) and is very nice, haven't been able to put him down since I got him home tonight.

    oh yea, and SCALPELS!!!

Not really seeing much of a comparison other than names here, but I like the Specialist Ratchet & plan on getting the Prime one too.

specialist ratchet can be further modded, if you remove his head and replace it with the pcc skysomething's head, a red decepticon pcc commander. kinda looks like G1 ratchet's head

I have both and I love both.

Arms are better on PRiD as is the backpack (or relative lack of one). Legs are better (less kibble-y) on DotM.

    Poseability goes to Prime
Transformation: DotM is easier, less panel-y and more fun IMHO.

In the end though, both are phenomenal figures and mainly come down to which design aesthetic do you like better, the Prime one or the Bayverse one.

All that said, PRiD Ratchet is going onto my classics shelf and will be my main "keeper" even though I love both figs.

I have to agree that both figures are pretty good. In fact, Prime and DotM Specialist Ratchets are the only two Ratchets I own. PRID is the better figure all around for some really cool transformation stuff (like the head and feet), but Specialist Ratchet is easier to transform. I can't stand movie Ratchet's head though.

Prime Ratchet has a great robot mode, not a great alt mode. DoTM Ratchet is decent in both modes. Depends on what aesthetic you're looking for too.

Prime Ratchet for sure. He's got a ton of articulation and the entire mold looks really damn good. The kibble issue isn't as bad and ugly as it is on the DOTM figure. Both are good but the TFP figure really wins out as far as articulation is concerned.
