I've a question..why in all the dotm megatron figures the left windshield is popping up? Just curiosity but I'd really like to know if anyone has any idea about that. Thanx
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...4-pictorial-review-dotm-voyager-megatron.html Can't say for sure if this has happened to others, but the thread above is dedicated to the voyager megatron itself, so if people don't reply to this one, maybe you'll get lucky in there. Also, what's behind the left & right side of the windshield? If there isn't something pushing against it or whatever, maybe it's gotta do with how the pegs are set up? I don't have the figure, but I'm sure it's possible to figure out (and even correct) with a little brainstorming, especially in regards to why one of them stays in & the other doesn't.
Pic explains it pretty much : the windshield has a metal frame guard which is slightly offset from the windshield itself. Of course, at toysize, Hasbro molded the metal frame guard in one piece of translucent plastic with the windshield together.
I assumed it was an intended design choice for the mold. It was to create some sort of relationship between Meg's face and the windshield (the windshields being similar to his eyes which are no longer symmetrical). I've always kind of like it.
Megatron is a Granite M915 LHRT, and part of the armor package that the US Military uses for the M915 is a thick, ballistic glass windshield for the driver. That's why it's extra thick...so that bullets can't penetrate the front windshield and kill the driver. Based upon the pictures of Megatron I BELIEVE he has the A-armor kit, which is the overall cab with improved ballistic protection around the cab and mine resistant floors.
Yeah, I'm fairly sure it's meant to be an armor plate bolted on.... like an extra layer of bulletproof glass, or something. And because asymmetry is cool.
